00:00Today, DSWD's Walang Gutom 2027 Food Stamp Redemption in Tondo, Manila was held in Marangkada.

00:20It was chosen by our fellow countrymen that DSWD's Food Redemption Activity here in Tondo, Manila.
00:26It is still part of the Walang Gutom Program where the target is to provide food to 1,000,000 food-poor families by the end of 2027.
00:38Mary Jane's 7-year-old son is a vendor.
00:41His job is to earn 500 pesos a day.
00:45He admitted that this is not enough to meet their needs, especially in terms of food.
00:51It is a blessing for him to be counted among the beneficiaries of the Walang Gutom Program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development of DSWD.
01:01It is a big help to us because of the daily needs of my family.
01:08We can eat three times a day.
01:12It is important for him to be able to feed his children in order for them to stay healthy and avoid illness.
01:27According to DSWD, more than 259,000 low-income households benefit from their Walang Gutom Program.
01:35It can reach 300,000 target beneficiaries before the end of 2024.
01:41Currently, the program has reached 22 provinces in 10 regions of the country.
01:47The goal of the program is to provide food to 1,000,000 food-poor families by the end of 2027.
01:54The foodstuff program is one of the priority programs of the administration of President 49R Marquez Jr.
02:01to combat the involuntary hunger experienced by low-income households.
02:06The qualified beneficiaries are given Php 3,000 food credits.
02:11This is what they will use to buy food from three groups of foodstuffs composed of 50% carbohydrates, 30% protein, and 20% fiber.
