Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has urged Noni Madueke to be more “ambitious” after revealing the winger was axed from his side over poor performances in training.Madueke had started 11 consecutive Premier League matches before being dropped for Sunday’s 3-0 victory over Aston Villa. However, he was recalled to the side for Wednesday’s trip to Southampton, and responded with a goal and an assist in a 5-1 win.The England international could easily have added to that tally, missing several glaring second-half opportunities, and Maresca believes he must show the desire to fulfil his scoring potential.

00:00Well it's just after full-time here at St Mary's, you might be able to hear the Chelsea fans still in the background singing Enzo Maresco's name because they've won here comprehensively 5-1, they've closed the gap on Premier League leaders Liverpool.
00:14It's a fantastic start to the season if we can even still call it, that continues for Chelsea. They were given a massive help in hand tonight it must be said because Southampton were absolutely woeful in the first half in particular.
00:25They self-imploded for the first two goals, they lost their captain Jack Stephens to a red card for pulling Mark Fukaraya's hair.
00:32But Maresco managed to rotate his team heavily, he made seven changes tonight, chances for plenty of the players who've had to wait for them after decent performances in the Conference League.
00:42And as I say three points that keeps this momentum rolling into Sunday's London derby with Tottenham.
00:47You can follow all the build-up to that as well as plenty of reaction and analysis from tonight's game over on Standards War.
