DPR: PPN 12 Persen Hanya Berlaku untuk Barang Mewah

00:00The additional tax, or PPN 12 percent, which will take effect from January 1, 2025, is only applied for luxury goods.
00:14The policy was delivered by the Deputy Chairman of the DPR RI, Sufmi Dasko Ahmad, after meeting with President Prabowo Supianto at the State Palace on Thursday, December 5.
00:24Dasko explained that luxury goods are commodities such as luxury apartments, luxury houses, and luxury cars.
00:31As for basic needs, education, health, banking, as well as those related to public services and government services, the additional tax is not included.
00:44Basic goods and services that directly affect the public will still be taxed, which is 11 percent.
00:55As for the argument of the DPR members that there is a decrease in taxes for basic needs that directly affect the public, the President answered that it will be considered and taxed.
01:12Previously, the plan to increase the PPN to 12 percent had long been talked about in Law No. 7 of 2021 on harmonization of tax regulations or HPP.
