00:00So we are celebrating this incredible series that you've put together.
00:05When you think about telling this family's story and how many other people have resonated,
00:11what are you the most proud of about this show?
00:14I mean, I'm proud of so much. I'm definitely proud of these two, for sure.
00:19I think I'm just proud that this is a story that, a true story that,
00:25I think this family gives people a lot of hope.
00:27I mean, I think they're a family.
00:29It's obviously really difficult subject matter in a lot of ways,
00:33and about a really scary chapter of history.
00:37But I think, like many people during that time,
00:40the sort of heroic act of their lives was just the daily act of their lives,
00:44of finding ways to connect with each other and make each other laugh.
00:48And, I mean, they played siblings who had fights.
00:52It's like they were just living their lives, and that's what the show really focused on.
00:56And I'm glad that that's resonated with people.
01:00What surprised you all about, maybe the reaction to the series,
01:04and the idea that, you know, this is one of those opportunities
01:07where we're talking about faith in a very, like, overarching form.
01:13It's not, like, specifically about Judaism.
01:16And it's also not specifically about the Jewish experience.
01:20So what interested you when you were getting DMs and hearing from fans
01:24about their perspective on this story?
01:27I mean, it was just a really beautiful, like, experience to—
01:33I mean, any time that someone comes up to me or messages me or says something like,
01:38you probably hear this a lot, you're probably tired of hearing something,
01:40and then says a compliment about, like, the show and, like, how wonderful it is,
01:46it always makes me, like, laugh because I never get, like, used to or tired of hearing
01:52that our work and Erika's work resonated with people in a way that touched them
01:58and that they'll think about it and that maybe moved them in some way
02:01and that maybe they'll go about their lives slightly different because of it,
02:05or maybe they'll talk to a friend about, like—
02:07There was just— It was a really beautiful reaction.
02:09There was an outpouring of various different kinds of reactions and love for the show.
02:14And a lot of people were not Jewish who were reaching out,
02:17which I just so appreciated because it's a show for everybody.
02:22It's not just for Jewish people, of course.
02:25And so it made me so happy that people were watching it and feeling it in their heart.
02:30And you!
02:33Yeah, no, how do I reply after what you just said? Yes.
02:38What I could ask is also, you know,
02:40how does it affect the choices that you think you'll make moving forward
02:44when it comes to the roles you choose?
02:47Do you think there'll be more opportunities to kind of explore topics of faith
02:53and religion and spirituality and ethnicity in roles that you go on to take?
02:58I mean, hopefully. I think that what's beautiful about this show
03:02and what I love about Georgia Hunter's story
03:04and what Erika made out of it is that it's so universal.
03:07It's not, as you said, it's not about Judaism or that moment in time.
03:12It's about hatred and ignorance and racism.
03:15And that's why I really agree with what you said.
03:19So many people came up to me and said that they're non-Jewish
03:22and they just love the show and resonated with it.
03:24So I hope that we get to tell more stories like that.
03:29All right. Now just talk to me about Erika real fast.
03:31Like she's not even here.
03:33What made the story that she was telling and working with her so special?
03:38I really like her. I love her.
03:41I just really love her. I just love her.
03:45I just want to say that Erika is just like the nicest, genuine human being.
03:49She came to set every day and she was so open to talk
03:55and we came up to her every time with so many questions
03:58and she had just like answers and empathy
04:01and she knew what we were going through
04:03and she was just so accountable to us.
04:06And this is so not taken for granted for actors on set
04:11to have someone that is so grounded and can like be the captain of this ship.
04:16And I'm just so grateful to have worked with her.
04:18She's not even here. I like I hope she hears that.
04:21Yes, we don't know her, but I love her so much.
04:24I apologize. I do do this to make you uncomfortable.
04:27I'm sorry. Sorry. I'm so sorry.
04:29I just I mean to add to what you said,
04:31I just it's rare that the talent matches the empathy and the kindness
04:35and in this case, it's just like overflowing.
04:38Erika is like the best boss you could ever hope for.
04:41And so I mean, you're just the best and I have a speech later.
04:44So I'm going to say the rest of my compliments.
04:47This was this was the preview for what's to come.
04:49We just wanted you to be emotionally prepared.
