00:00The Philippine Statistics Authority released the top 5 jobs
00:07when it comes to average daily basic pay or daily salary.
00:11Can these jobs provide for a family?
00:15It was voted in Barangay Sexy Online by Darlene Cai.
00:22Is your salary still enough for expenses?
00:25In the latest Labor Force Survey of the Philippine Statistics Authority or PSA,
00:29the top 5 jobs in the country were mentioned as having the highest daily basic pay or daily salary.
00:34First on the list are the jobs in the Armed Forces,
00:37which as of October 2024,
00:39can provide an average of Php 1,301 salary per day.
00:44The top 5 include professionals, managers, technicians,
00:47associate professionals, and clerical support workers.
00:51We asked our online viewers,
00:53if just like the top 5 jobs that you receive daily salary,
00:56can your family afford it?
00:59A netizen said,
01:01but she also said that it's hard because it's expensive to buy.
01:04Another said,
01:05if she can replace the situation in the top 5 jobs,
01:09she will be able to provide for her family.
01:12Another commenter said,
01:13they can live on the same salary,
01:15but they won't have an ascent and no savings,
01:18especially since it's easy to run out of Php 1,000 per day.
01:21Another said,
01:23they can live on the same salary, but they won't be able to avoid it,
01:27especially if they don't have their own house.
01:29Based on the PSA data,
01:31unemployment rate in the Philippines has increased,
01:35from 3.9% in October to 3.7% in September.
01:40That's equivalent to 1.97 million individuals.
01:44One of the main reasons for the recent typhoons
01:47is the effect of the typhoons on fishing.
01:49Of course, our fisherfolks are cautious
01:54to go out because of the storm.
01:57So not only here,
01:59we also had an impact in other subsectors,
02:03although the highest was quarter-on-quarter
02:05in fishing and aquaculture.
02:07According to Dole,
02:09other employment is still a challenge for Filipinos,
02:13but it's not enough or the workload is not enough
02:15in terms of income and benefits.
02:18But there are job placements,
02:20like the one launched by the University of the Philippines,
02:23to find jobs for those who are struggling
02:26according to their abilities and abilities.
02:28A better match would help in their employment.
02:33And the most important,
02:34the scholars of this country,
02:36we want them to work here in the Philippines.
02:39The 40 pesos added to the minimum wage
02:41in the Cordillera Administrative Region
02:43is approved and will be effective on December 24,
02:46according to Dole.
02:47On December 23,
02:48the minimum wage increase of 35 pesos
02:50will be implemented in Mimaropa.
02:52For GMA Integrated News,
02:54I'm Darlene Kaye, your witness.
02:57A dog was found dead after being hit by an arrow
03:00in Bacolod City,
03:01according to the NGO that rescued the dog.
03:03A student asked for help from them
03:06after seeing a dog that was shot by an arrow in Chan.
03:10The dog was operated on
03:12and is still recovering in a vet clinic.
03:15Investigators are investigating
03:16who was the one who injured the dog.
03:18And the Bacolod City Veterinary Office
03:22is in charge of the next case of animal cruelty in the city.
03:26A dog was also found dead last month.
03:29And to address that,
03:30the police plan to have an animal welfare desk.
03:35Decades have passed,
03:37but there's still a problem
03:37that many motorists
03:38have lost their license plates.
03:41According to the report of the Commission on Audit,
03:42more than a million plates are in the backlog of the LTO.
03:47Witness, Marie Jumali.
03:52In 2016,
03:53John, a rider's uncle,
03:55bought his motorcycle as a passenger.
03:57But eight years have passed
03:59and his motorcycle is old.
04:01But until now, he still doesn't have a license plate.
04:03That's why he first installed an improvised license plate.
04:06I'm nervous because it's going to be ticketed.
04:08And it's also a hassle
04:09if he decides to sell it.
04:11The motorcycle will be disposed of
04:13without a license plate.
04:15It's hard, ma'am,
04:16because he's going to look for his original license plate.
04:19It's only been three months
04:20and he's going to get his license plate.
04:21Freddy's uncle promised to buy his motorcycle.
04:24But three years have passed
04:26and he still hasn't gotten his license plate.
04:28He's also afraid that he'll be fined
04:30for having bad intentions,
04:31instead of additional fines.
04:33If he's fined,
04:34the penalty will be higher.
04:37It's up to you, ma'am.
04:38Why?
04:39Because it's a long trip.
04:42And the income is not that big.
04:46Freddy and John's problem
04:47is also the problem of more than a million riders
04:50who still haven't gotten their license plates
04:52for their motorcycles
04:54due to the backlog in motorcycle plates
04:56as of December 2023.
04:58This is what the Commission on Audits in LTO
05:00said in their audit report in 2023.
05:03It's different from the 1.7 million
05:05motorcycle replacement plates
05:08that can't be repaired
05:09even if it's already paid
05:10for more than Php 763 million
05:13back in 2015.
05:15According to the LTO,
05:16if true,
05:17there's a huge gap in the backlog
05:19that used to be Php 13 million
05:21when Assistant Secretary Vigor Mendoza
05:23was the LTO chief.
05:25They explained...
05:26The problem and the backlog
05:29was that in 2014,
05:31there was a problem with the LTO's bidding,
05:33there was a case,
05:35and there was a CRO.
05:36It was fixed sometime in 2018-2019
05:39and then another problem came.
05:41There was a CRO in Manila
05:46so our backlog was stacked.
05:49The LTO assured that
05:51they will not catch those
05:52who haven't issued their license plates
05:54as long as they show their sales invoice and ORCR.
05:57In August 2023,
05:59the LTO issued a memorandum
06:02on what to do with those who don't have license plates.
06:05We will not catch them.
06:06The LTO promised President Bombong Marcos
06:09that they will end the problem
06:10with the backlog of license plates in June 2025.
06:13That's why they will triple their efforts
06:16to reach this target.
06:18The LTO and DOTR procured
06:21a finished plate
06:22so that while our plant is producing,
06:26the winning bidder is also producing.
06:29The LTO's recommendation
06:31is to send a request
06:32to the Department of Budget and Management
06:34to issue a fund
06:36for the production
06:37of motor vehicle replacement plates
06:39and motorcycle backlogs.
06:41The procurement process will be carried out on time
06:43and the regional directors will speed up
06:45the release and distribution of replacement plates.
