00:00Welcome to Mojo Plays and today we're taking a look at the 10 Switch Exclusives You Should
00:11Have Played in 2024.
00:17Before we begin, we publish new videos all week long, so be sure to subscribe to Mojo
00:20Plays and ring the bell to be notified about our latest videos.
00:24Mario & Luigi Brothership
00:33After being dormant for a handful of years, the Mario & Luigi series is back with its
00:37first foray on home consoles.
00:40Players found Brothership to be a wonderful return for the series with an incredible scope
00:44and stellar character animation.
00:46Even if not every aspect met the expectations of diehard fans, the game still saw plenty
00:51of praise for its combat, music, and minigames.
00:54Plus, Luigi was finally able to put his head on straight and come up with some clever ideas
00:59during fights and exploration.
01:01This alone led to some interesting boss fights and even more interesting encounters with
01:05various characters.
01:14Princess Peach Showtime
01:16A video game starring Princess Peach may not be everyone's cup of tea, but Princess Peach
01:28Showtime managed to make the idea work rather well.
01:31We could have easily settled for a sequel to the often forgotten DS game Super Princess
01:35Peach.
01:36What we got instead was a mystery surrounding a monumental theater with a wealth of different
01:40costumes boasting unique abilities.
01:42Whether it was cake decorating, becoming a musketeer, or watching Peach unleash her inner
01:47kung fu warrior, Princess Peach Showtime was a way more fun time than most folks were probably
01:53expecting.
01:59Luigi's Mansion 2 HD
02:08Even though this was virtually a port, Luigi's Mansion 2 HD was still a game worth checking
02:14out this summer.
02:15With the 3DS original launching all the way back in 2013, it's hard to say if many folks
02:19got to play Dark Moon back in the day.
02:22Through this version, Luigi's Mansion 2 HD managed to showcase everything that made
02:26this game memorable back then in a much higher resolution.
02:29Our only complaint was that we wish the visual upgrade came with a smoother framerate, but
02:34The Switch is ancient, what can you do?
02:39Mario vs. Donkey Kong
02:45Much like the Mario and Luigi games, the Mario vs. Donkey Kong series had faded into obscurity
02:50for quite some time before this remake came out, and boy, we needed a good reminder as
02:55to why this handheld series was great in the first place.
02:58Not only does Mario vs. Donkey Kong manage to recreate the GBA original with the best
03:03sound and visuals, it also adds in two new worlds with their own gimmicks as well as
03:08a handful of different modes to give the campaign some replayability.
03:12Perhaps now is a good opportunity to reintroduce this spin-off series for a new game or a remake
03:18of the second game.
03:26Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble
03:34Super Monkey Ball has seen a comfortable resurgence within the last few years thanks to a remaster
03:38and a remake.
03:40So how did the newest entry in 12 years turn out?
03:42Well, developer Ryu Gagotaku did amazingly well.
03:46Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble was everything we could have wanted from a new installment.
03:50In addition to a meaty roster of 18 playable characters, we also got to experience more
03:54than 200 stages and even compete in a unique battle royale mode.
03:59Honestly, we were getting a lot of bang for our buck with this one.
04:09Another Code Recollection
04:15There are a ton of wonderful games that may be forever stranded on the DS.
04:19Thankfully, both Another Code and its sequel were rescued with this massive remake of both
04:25games.
04:26Another Code Recollection managed to give the original games a facelift while implementing
04:29a new art style to give the games a more distinctive look.
04:33Arc System Works did an exceptional job at preserving this hidden DS gem, and we're
04:37hoping this might lead to a new entry later down the road.
04:45Super Mario Party Jamboree
04:52As the third Mario Party game to come to Switch, Super Mario Party Jamboree had a lot
04:56of hype riding on it.
04:58Surprisingly, this isn't just the best Mario Party on the Switch, it's the most balanced
05:03entry in the entire franchise.
05:05No minigame feels one-sided or easy to cheese, the economy doesn't feel too absurd in coin
05:10payouts, and coming in second or third can still net you some kind of reward.
05:15With a wealth of different boards and game modes to choose from, Jamboree is immensely
05:20fun to play even if you're playing as a party of one.
05:30Imio the Smiling Man – Famicom Detective Club
05:41The Famicom Detective Club series makes its return with its first new game in over thirty
05:45years.
05:46Imio the Smiling Man tasks you to investigate crime scenes as you track down a mysterious
05:51killer who wears a paper bag over his head.
05:54We don't want to spoil too much, but this might be one of the most chilling games Nintendo
05:58has ever put out.
05:59If you've been itching for a scary game or a visual novel adventure game, this is
06:04well worth its asking price.
06:14The Legend of Zelda – Echoes of Wisdom
06:23After spending ages demanding Zelda get her very own game, we finally got one.
06:28No Wand of Gamelon does not count.
06:30The Legend of Zelda – Echoes of Wisdom put our princess in the role of the hero for a
06:34change and gave her the power to copy objects and enemies.
06:38Much like we did with Tears of the Kingdom, this mechanic only got more chaotic as we
06:42searched for different ways to practically break the game.
06:45It may not be as expansive and immersive as the more modern Zelda games, but if you want
06:50something that sort of plays like the Link's Awakening remake, Echoes of Wisdom was a lovely
06:54breath of fresh air.
07:08Paper Mario – The Thousand Year Door
07:18Look we know that 2024 was a year filled with remakes and remasters from Switch exclusives,
07:23but if there was one Switch game that you could play this year, we would highly recommend
07:27Paper Mario – The Thousand Year Door.
07:29There are reasons why folks still cherish the original today with its story, characters,
07:34exciting turd-based combat, boss fights, worlds, and more.
07:38And the remake here only further improves that with new lighting, textures, and animations.
07:43Hopefully this is a sign for Paper Mario to return to its roots for a new game.
07:52Which Switch game was your favorite this year?

07:58videos every day.
