00:00Welcome to WatchMojo, and today, we're counting down our picks for real-life dolls that are
00:12said to have haunted their owners, and anyone else that dares to look their way.
00:23Number 30.
00:24Elsa.
00:25For decades, Disney princesses have been a source of joy.
00:28Frozen, in particular, was a cultural phenomenon, with Elsa becoming a modern favorite.
00:40Several toys depicting the Ice Queen have been made, including one that supposedly terrorized
00:45a whole family.
00:52At first, everything was normal.
00:54When activated, it would speak and sing her iconic tune, Let It Go.
01:03Then things took a strange turn.
01:05It began to switch between English and Spanish, and would even sing while turned off.
01:11When the owner tried to dispose of it, it came back good as new, twice.
01:18Eventually, they shipped it to another state, where it still resides today.
01:23Since then, everything has been fine, although paranormal experts believe the entity may
01:27still return to them someday.
01:30Number 29.
01:32Ruby.
01:33Even seemingly innocent objects can be home to malevolent spirits.
01:37When first looking at Ruby, she appears to just be a normal porcelain baby doll.
01:42One would never even guess her tragic past – that she was held by a young girl as she
01:47passed away.
01:48In the generations since, she's alleged to have haunted everyone who dares to own her,
01:53leading to the family attempting to have a medium banish the spirit inside.
01:58Some have tried locking her away, only to find her elsewhere shortly afterwards.
02:03While she doesn't seem to have malevolent intentions, she has caused some people to
02:07feel nauseous and despondent.
02:09In recent years, it's been on display with a traveling museum, where it continues to
02:13unsettle people across the nation.
02:17Number 28.
02:18The Aging Doll It's no secret that most things will physically
02:26change as they age, and dolls are no exception.
02:30When one household was going through their daughter's old possessions, they anticipated
02:34some dust or discoloration – not for the doll to be covered in wrinkles.
02:39It had completely transformed, taking on the appearance of someone that had lived a long,
02:44hard life.
02:45It once had the face of a baby, and it had now aged to something that looked like it
02:50was like 80 years old.
02:52While some enthusiasts have insisted the shocking change was simply due to time, others aren't
02:57so convinced.
02:58It doesn't seem to have the typical signs of aging seen in most inanimate objects, rather
03:03displaying features most commonly associated with elderly humans.
03:07How this happened is still unknown to this day, and understandably, no one wants to be
03:12around it long enough to find out.
03:15Number 27.
03:16Lily.
03:17What?
03:18She's been striking fear in people across the globe for centuries.
03:29This particular model has been circulating since the 1600s, and at one time was apparently
03:34used to help ward off unwanted spirits.
03:37However, it is said that the original version had taken on one of these malevolent entities
03:42rather than expel it.
03:43She was given to paranormal researchers, with a note attached to her, warning them not to
03:48leave her by any mirrors or in the room where they slept.
03:51She also apparently had made lights flicker and toyed with people's sense of smell.
03:56Despite this, she still remains a popular item, and reproductions are available to buy
04:01and own for yourself, if you dare.
04:03You can see her sort of cracked face, she's got a beautiful dress, beautiful hair, so
04:10Hi Lily, welcome to the Skeleton Crew!
04:13Number 26.
04:14Chukesmi.
04:15It somehow managed to be the scariest thing in a series full of vampires and werewolves.
04:22While they opted for CGI to represent Bella and Edward's baby on screen, they were originally
04:27going to go down a more practical route.
04:29However, their attempt to create a beautiful vampire baby instead resulted in what was
04:34eventually dubbed Chukesmi.
04:36Chukesmi is one of the most grotesque animatronic babies ever to not be seen on film.
04:44With bulging eyes and a slightly malformed head, it unsettled the cast and crew of the
04:49Twilight Saga Breaking Dawn Part 2.
04:52However, the problems don't end at its looks.
04:55Some, including the director himself, have reported it moving on its own.
05:00This has led it to be permanently locked in a display case at Forever Twilight in Forks,
05:05for the safety of patrons and employees alike.
05:12Number 25.
05:13Charlie.
05:14There are some found objects that should have never been uncovered.
05:28One family learned this the hard way in 1968, when they discovered a trunk in their attic
05:32containing a single, worse-for-wear doll wrapped in newspaper dating back decades.
05:38The only other item inside was a copy of the Lord's Prayer.
05:41The parents decided to add it to their collection, naming him Charlie and placing him with their
05:46other belongings.
05:47The children were horrified by him, with the youngest even claiming that he had spoken
05:52to her in the night.
05:53It wasn't until scratches appeared on her that they took her seriously and made efforts
05:57to get rid of him.
05:58He currently resides in a local store in Massachusetts, where he remains dormant… for now.
06:05Number 24.
06:06Peggy.
06:07The internet is often a double-edged sword.
06:14While it's great for mass communication, it can also expose millions to things they
06:18should never see.
06:19Peggy may not seem intimidating, with her blonde hair and blue eyes.
06:23However, her innocent appearance is thought to be a cover for the evil lurking beneath.
06:29Dozens of people have fallen sick after seeing her, with one woman even experiencing symptoms
06:33of a heart attack.
06:35Dozens and dozens of people reported suffering nosebleeds, nausea, chest pains, and migraines
06:41after simply looking at the photo online.
06:44Despite her history, videos of her continue to circulate online, including some where
06:49experts attempt to communicate with her using EMF readers.
06:52In one chilling update, Peggy even claims to be angry with someone, although who it
06:58is, and why she takes out her fury on innocent people instead, have yet to be discovered.
07:14Number 23.
07:15Mr. Ted.
07:17Humanoid dolls aren't the only ones that can cause a fright.
07:20Other symbols of childhood have become supposed vessels for unsightly spirits, with one of
07:25the most disturbing taking on the form of a teddy bear.
07:28The stuffed animal, aptly named Mr. Ted, terrified his original owner so much that she attempted
07:35to bury him miles from her home.
07:38He eventually ended up in the hands of a team for This Morning, who attempted to make a
07:42video showcasing him.
07:44One of the producers had to be hospitalized later that night.
07:48Since then, it's remained in a chained-up display case, where it can be seen by those
07:53brave enough to go near it.
08:04Number 22.
08:05Amelia.
08:06Sometimes, all you need is one look at an object to tell something about it isn't
08:10quite right.
08:11Residing in Wyoming, Amelia is the exact opposite of aesthetically pleasing.
08:16Between her marred face and genuine human hair, she can make even the bravest person
08:21feel uneasy.
08:22Her supposed actions only add to her creepiness.
08:26In one case, an employee at the museum she's displayed in reported hearing a child screaming
08:31and crying in distress while preparing Amelia to be exhibited.
08:35When she went to investigate, not only could she not find one, her co-workers told her
08:40they hadn't heard anything at all.
08:42It's still believed that the doll was the source.
08:45Although what she was so distressed about has yet to be understood.
08:49Number 21.
08:50Elizabeth.
08:51I wouldn't necessarily say possessed, but there is, it has got something.
08:58She's a complete nightmare disguised as a dream bride.
09:02With her stunning features and intricate wedding gown, one would never assume she was capable
09:07of harm.
09:08Since having been moved to South Yorkshire's Haunted Objects Museum, Elizabeth has been
09:12accused of attacking at least 15 men, with some resulting in mild injuries.
09:17That chair's beginning to rock.
09:19Look at that.
09:20Who's doing that?
09:21Stop it.
09:22Who's doing that?
09:23One of her previous owners has even claimed to have been given a scratch on his back in
09:27the shape of a pentagram, an image commonly associated with Satanism.
09:32Do you believe that this doll has done that?
09:34Yes, I do, because I've been scratched over the past week or eight days that I've had
09:39the doll.
09:40Besides her misandric attacks, she's also been known to manipulate objects in a violent
09:45manner.
09:46While some think her actions are born out of jealousy, others can't help but feel the
09:50real reason is much more insidious.
09:54Number 20.
09:55Amanda the Doll.
09:57This doll, crafted by Heinrich Hanverk in 1884, is known for strange things happening
10:02around her.
10:03First sold on eBay in 2003, Amanda has allegedly been put back on the auction block on more
10:09than 20 occasions.
10:11Each of her owners kept complaining that the doll had been the cause of weird occurrences
10:15while they had her.
10:16There have been reports of Amanda moving rooms, causing nightmares, and even scratching her
10:20victims while they sleep.
10:22Her seemingly innocent face has been known to shift to an evil grin when she's in tormentor
10:27mode.
10:28Her activities even earned her a place in John Harker's True Tales trilogy, Nightmarish
10:32Accounts of Paranormal Activity.
10:35Number 19.
10:36Caroline.
10:38Caroline reportedly comes from an antique shop in Salem, Massachusetts.
10:41This doll is believed to be inhabited by not one, but three spirits, all battling for control
10:46over her.
10:47The subject of frequent paranormal investigations, it's believed that the spirits possessing
10:52Caroline were her owners themselves.
10:55She's also a prankster, known for playing tricks on her owners.
10:58She'll hide books, move objects, and even whisper in your ear if you hold her close.
11:02A previous owner allegedly claimed that Caroline whispered, make it you, in his ear, which
11:07he interpreted to mean good luck.
11:09Not known to be a malicious spirit, Caroline hasn't been seen since she was last investigated
11:14in 2004.
11:16Number 18.
11:18The Susie Doll.
11:19From the case files of Lorraine Warren, meet the Susie Doll.
11:23Susie was given to young Heather Platt as a birthday present, made by her Aunt Robin.
11:27That night, Heather's parents were awakened by the sound of growling and a dark shadow
11:32that seemed to come down the street into their home.
11:35After that, Susie was known to move about the house on her own, move objects around
11:39the kitchen that were too heavy for the children, and pull the hair out of the sleeping kids'
11:44heads.
11:45By the time Lorraine Warren arrived, it took an exorcism to get the doll out of the house
11:49for good.
11:50Number 17.
11:52The Old Man Puppet.
11:53This puppet came into the hands of paranormal investigator Jane Harris, when its previous
11:58owner claimed the doll had choked him.
12:00The puppet was inherited by the man, who claimed to have left the puppet in a drawer by his
12:04bed, when he awoke to his throat being throttled by tiny puppet hands.
12:09In addition to strangling, this unnamed Old Man Puppet is said to have caused bruises
12:14and scratches, and haunted the man in his nightmares.
12:17Jane was contacted and took to recording the puppet in case of any suspect behavior.
12:21Night vision footage showed the puppet moving inside its sealed glass case, confirming the
12:27suspicion that the puppet is possessed.
12:30Number 16.
12:31Elmo.
12:32Since even Elmo dolls have been shown to have a dark side, in 2008 a Florida family made
12:37the news and waves around the web, when the Elmo Knows Your Name doll started making death
12:42threats to their son.
12:48Melissa Bowman, mother of the two-year-old James, overheard the doll say, kill James,
12:54while her son was playing with the doll.
12:56Though this version of Elmo is able to be programmed to remember your kid's name, James's
13:01doll didn't start spouting threats until he got his batteries changed.
13:04Fisher Price launched an investigation and offered the family a voucher for another Elmo
13:09doll.
13:10Number 15.
13:11The Devil Baby Doll.
13:12Nineteenth-century New Orleans birthed many stories of spells and curses, and one such
13:18curse supposedly brought about the Devil Baby Dolls.
13:21A bride cursed by the Queen of Voodoo, Marie Laveau, was said to have given birth to a
13:26devil child, spawned by Satan himself.
13:29In an effort to protect themselves, creoles carved devil babies, hanging them in their
13:33homes as protection.
13:35In recent years, local artist Riccardo Pastanio took the last pieces of the one remaining
13:40doll and recreated the devil baby, as well as replicas.
13:44These dolls have been known to rustle and whisper when they're all together, move by
13:49themselves, turn over ashtrays, and cry when they're apart.
13:53Number 14.
13:54The Pulau Ubin Barbie.
13:56In Singapore, one Barbie doll is visited regularly so that the spirit of a young girl can grant
14:01health and fortune.
14:03The story goes that in 1914, a German couple suspected of being spies were detained while
14:08their young daughter got away.
14:09In her attempts to escape, however, she tripped off a cliff to her tragic death.
14:13Eventually, her remains were placed in an urn and a shrine erected in her honour.
14:18After being visited by the spirit of this little girl three nights in a row, a man bought
14:22this particular Barbie as instructed and brought it to the shrine to serve as her stand-in.
14:28Number 13.
14:29Voodoo Zombie Doll.
14:31Originally from New Orleans, this doll made its way to a woman in Galveston, Texas in
14:362004.
14:37It arrived in a metal box with instructions not to remove the doll.
14:41As it was, quote, almost alive, according to its eBay sellers, she let the doll out
14:46and claimed afterwards that it would attack her and haunt her dreams.
14:49To get rid of it, she listed it on eBay and successfully sold the doll to a new owner
14:54several times.
14:55Each time, the buyer would receive an empty box, and the doll would reappear on the woman's
15:00doorstep.
15:01She eventually got it in the hands of a ghost hunter who reportedly still has the doll today.
15:06Number 12.
15:07The Doll at Haugang.
15:09Found by passers-by leaning against a tree, this doll seems innocent enough, if you don't
15:15think about its eyes being covered.
15:17Enter the Doll at Haugang, found in Haugang, Singapore, around 2014.
15:22When pictures of the doll were posted online, a Reddit thread explained that the writing
15:26on it was Arabic, meaning, in the name of God.
15:29Apparently, this little dolly had been moving around by itself and talking in a woman's
15:33voice.
15:34The original owner claimed that the only way they found they could get rid of it was to
15:38take it far away from home and blindfold it so that it couldn't come back.
15:42Number 11.
15:44Patty Reed's Doll.
15:45This creepy doll is the only one on our list to be haunted by humans rather than the other
15:49way around.
15:50Patty Reed's doll famously came along for the wagon ride when the Donner Party made
15:54the trip west to California in 1846.
15:57When the travelers were trapped by snow, people turned from eating bits of leather and mice
16:02to cannibalism for survival.
16:04The entire Reed family made it through the trip, and the doll can be seen nowadays at
16:09Sutter's Fort State Historical Park Museum in Sacramento, California.
16:14Unlike the others, this doll seems to be shocked into silence.
16:17It might not be supernatural, but it certainly inspires horror.
16:21Number 10.
16:22Harold.
16:23Harold's story begins with an eBay listing, a listing that reads like a horror story.
16:29Haunted Harold was allegedly purchased at a flea market from someone who said that his
16:32son died shortly after getting the doll himself.
16:35Refusing to heed the warning, the new owner took the doll home.
16:39Within two days, his cat died, his girlfriend left him, and he began having chronic migraines.
16:44This doesn't include the laughing and crying children he kept hearing in his basement,
16:49or the fact that the doll seems to have a pulse.
16:51The current owner, Anthony Quenada, has a YouTube page where he asks Harold questions
16:57and tries to investigate its history.
16:59Number 9.
17:00Letta.
17:01Letta is supposedly an ancient Eastern European marionette.
17:05At least 200 years old, it was discovered under an abandoned house in New South Wales,
17:10Australia.
17:11Owner Kerry Walton has gone on record many times admitting the terrifying consequences
17:15of finding such a doll.
17:17Objects move, items fall off the walls, and in its presence, people and animals alike
17:21tend to freak out.
17:23In early attempts to sell the doll, he would suddenly feel utterly incapable of following
17:27through.
17:28A lady had rung me and wanted to buy it, and I tried to take him out of the car, but I
17:33just...
17:34I don't know, I just couldn't take him out.
17:37It was...
17:38It was really weird.
17:39Letta, short for Letta Me Out, is also known for its head full of human hair, for causing
17:44rain whenever it's taken outside, and for readjusting the position in which it sits
17:49all by itself.
17:51Number 8.
17:52Pupa.
17:53Pupa may be the cutest doll on this list, but don't let her looks fool you.
17:57The dark side is strong with this one.
18:00You don't know the power of the dark side.
18:04Built in the 1920s to resemble her five-year-old owner, Pupa was loved and cared for until
18:10the owner's death in 2005, and was then placed in a display case by the family.
18:15Since the original owner's death, there have been numerous reports of Pupa tapping on the
18:19glass, being found in different positions, and writing messages inside the fogged-up
18:24case.
18:25A family member allegedly caught her moving on camera, but the footage, when uploaded,
18:30was inexplicably covered in white film with the words, Pupa No.
18:35It's been said that her owner always said that Pupa had a mind of her own.
18:40Number 7.
18:41Okiku.
18:42In Japan, Okiku has found international fame for being the doll with growing hair.
18:48The doll was purchased in 1918 for a little girl, Okiku, who died less than a year later
18:53of a severe flu.
18:55In her memory, the family set up the large doll in a shrine.
18:58Eventually, they noticed that the doll's hair, which was originally just a bob, had been
19:02steadily growing even after being cut.
19:05This led them to believe that the girl's spirit must have moved on into the doll.
19:09Since 1938, Okiku has been on display in Mananji Temple, where people regularly visit her.
19:15The hair has allegedly been tested in a lab, and it was concluded to indeed be human hair.
19:21Number 6.
19:22Crystal, True, Monica, Sheila, Isaac, Lily, Ashley, and Cameron.
19:34Being paranormal investigators, the Watkins family are at least better suited than most
19:39to be handling supposed haunted artifacts.
19:41The dolls – Crystal, True, Monica, Sharla, Isaac, Lily, Ashley, and Cameron – were
19:47all purchased individually based on their supernatural reputations.
19:52The Watkins family then brought them together in their Pennsylvania home and set up a 24-hour stream.
19:58Over the years, fans of the aptly named Dollhouse have gathered on the webpage forum to discuss
20:03the alleged paranormal events caught on camera.
20:05Most notable was the footage of a ghostly apparition caught in 2009 of what seems to
20:10be a spectral young boy at the bottom of their staircase.
20:14Sadly, the stream stopped updating in 2015.
20:21Number 5.
20:22Juliette.
20:23The story goes that a jealous family friend maliciously gave this cursed doll to a young
20:28woman as a pregnancy gift.
20:30Tragically, her baby boy died only three days after birth.
20:34Soon after, however, the family began to hear a baby's cries emanating from the doll.
20:39The doll has been kept in the family for four generations, and as a result, little outside
20:43investigation has been possible.
20:45But legend has it that each owner has continuously given birth to one healthy boy and one healthy
20:51girl, with the boy mysteriously dying on the third day.
20:55According to the family, Juliette continues to cry out with the spirits of the multiple
20:59baby voices coming from it.
21:02Number 4.
21:03The Island of the Dolls.
21:05Located on the canals near Mexico City, this island is one of the creepiest destinations
21:10on the planet.
21:11In the 1950s, Julian Santana Brera left his family and isolated himself on the island.
21:18Legend has it that after finding the body of a drowned girl, he hung up her doll in
21:22a tree on the island as a means of honoring her memory and spirit.
21:26After it allegedly moved and made noises, his lifelong obsession with stringing up dolls
21:31in the trees began.
21:33In 2001, Brera's body was discovered having drowned in the same spot as the girl.
21:38Nowadays, Brera's family run the island, ferrying tourists to visit the countless dolls.
21:44According to local legend, the dolls have been known to whisper and move.
21:48Number 3.
21:49Robert.
21:50Given to painter Robert Eugene Otto when he was just a boy, Robert the doll has quite
21:55a creepy history.
21:56Eugene often talked to the doll, and according to his parents, the doll could be heard responding.
22:02Eugene also blamed small accidents on the doll.
22:05Eventually placed in an attic when Eugene grew up, Robert was often reported as having
22:09moved around on his own or causing creaking sounds.
22:14Nowadays, Robert resides at the Martello Gallery Key West Art and Historical Museum, where
22:21he continues to garner much attention.
22:24Each year, the doll receives hundreds of letters of apology from ex-skeptics who photograph
22:30him without permission, only to leave, experience various accidents, and come to associate them
22:36with Robert's cursed influence.
22:38Number 2.
22:39Annabelle.
22:40Thanks to the Conjuring film series, Annabelle's story has a prominent place in pop culture.
22:45She even got her own spin-off films, but the real doll looks nothing like her on-screen
22:50Hollywood counterpart.
22:52Annabelle is in fact a Raggedy Ann doll, given to a young nurse in the 1970s as a gift.
22:58The spookiness began almost immediately when the nurse and her roommate started finding
23:02the doll in random places and with handwritten notes next to it.
23:06Numerous paranormal investigators and demonologists Ed and Lorraine Warren examined the doll and
23:11eventually locked her up for safety's sake.
23:13The doll now resides at the Warren's Occult Museum.
23:16However, she's still been attributed responsibility for numerous attacks and at least one death.

23:39Number One.
23:40Mandy.
23:41Topping our list is a doll who seems to possess all powers and abilities of every aforementioned
23:46doll combined, Mandy.
23:49Her last owner could not stand the constant crying noises, but the sheer number of reported
23:54incidents, especially since the porcelain doll was donated to a Canadian museum in 1991,
23:59is staggering.
24:01Objects disappear or move, tapping is heard on her case, cameras and electronic devices
24:06malfunction, footsteps are heard in the night, and people report seeing her move and blink.
24:12Mandy does it all.
24:13While her antics don't seem evil, she is certainly an attention seeker.
24:17The staff keeps her far away from the other dolls, as any nearby doll displays tend to
24:23get broken or damaged.
