Rohit Sharma admits that India's batting let them down in their 10-wicket defeat to Australia

00:00When you come to Australia, I feel the best chance of winning a test match is by putting
00:05runs on the board.
00:07And of course, when we won the toss, we elected to bat.
00:12We knew that there will be challenges with that ball.
00:15But in the past, we have done that many times where the conditions have been a little challenging
00:22and we have batted really well to put runs on the board and then try and put pressure
00:26on the opposition.
00:28Like I said, that is the disappointing part that we didn't bat it well enough.
00:33Probably we were 30-40 runs short with the bat in the first innings.
00:38And then there were opportunities when Australia was batting and we failed to take those chances.
00:45And obviously, when you miss those chances, it is never easy and it's not going to be
00:50easy.
00:51The opposition will always make you pay for it.
00:54And that's what happened.
