00:09preferring printed newspaper over the digital platforms as their primary source of their

00:15With this in mind, Gulf News invited five young millennial guest editors into the newsroom

00:20for a day to curate their own front page.

00:24With the help of seasoned editors and reporters from the newsroom, they went through the stages

00:28involved in putting together a front page for a large daily paper.

00:32The credibility of newspapers and the spread of fake news on social media are among the

00:37key factors that seem to drive the millennials to conventional media over the digital sources,

00:43and while they still acquire news from modern digital sources, print and traditional formats

00:49hold a very real appeal to the younger audiences.

00:53The guest editors were chosen from among young readers of Gulf News as the newspaper

00:58strives to understand the perspective of millennials and give them a voice.

01:03Each participant was embedded with a different section of the newspaper, and they were given

01:08a first-hand experience of how news is produced and the workings of a media organization works.
