00:31and I went to Bombay and I travelled and I shot and I came back to Hyderabad
00:36back home to my family
00:37so I have been like making these short trips to Bombay
00:41but shooting per say, if you say shooting has resumed for us it means we are basically running from one set to another
00:49that's not happened yet
00:52this pandemic has been the biggest leveler of sorts for everyone I think
00:56just it shows us that we are not immune to anything, what have you learnt over the pandemic Aditi
01:03you know absolutely, you are so right, normally when we hear about
01:08some virus or some kind of disease that has suddenly sort of broken out
01:15it's always like oh my God it's there, no it's not here
01:18you know but this one has been such a leveler
01:22I feel like I have always been one of those people who has always said it's not about countries or regions
01:30it's about people and this pandemic has really been very democratic
01:34and it's really gone all out and just been like attack everybody
01:39so in that way I am making light of the situation, it's really not funny
01:43but in many ways it has been like that and I feel like more so
01:49it's made me, it's really made me feel like
01:56it's so important for us to remember that at the end of the day it's about human beings
02:02and it's about you know connecting as human beings
02:07being there for each other as human beings nothing else should matter
02:11and I think that also to wake up in the morning and count your blessings
02:16you know what I love about your career graph Aditi is that you reinvent yourself
02:20you do it in a very, without lot of sound noise
02:24there are movies we know you do good work but there is not a lot of hoopla
02:28somewhere along the way I feel you do your work very well and there is that consistency
02:33is that what you have always wanted to do, do your work well and then it just
02:37you seeped into our hearts very slowly, you served your time, it's not like you suddenly came and
02:42you have this great amazing spectacular launch, no you swept into our conscious very slowly but very strongly as well
02:49and that's really, really sweet of you to say that
02:53it actually feels very good to hear that, you are right I didn't get that launch where
02:58I showcased every single talent that I had, nobody really quite knew what I could do or what I couldn't do etc
03:05and it's been like one film at a time, one step at a time but in a way
03:09like I feel without sounding immodest or arrogant
03:13like absolutely at face value, I feel like you know
03:17I have kind of, I have done what I really wanted to do
03:22and I have done it the way in which I wanted to do it
03:27because for me, dignity is very, very important
03:32the way I work is very important and sometimes it can
03:37a lot of people say that you have not done a lot of work etc
03:40but maybe it's because of the way in which I choose to work
03:44and for me the people that I work with are very important, the journey I go through making the film is very important
03:49so you know those are choices I have made but honestly I have not made them knowingly
03:54it's probably been subconscious choices, it's probably been a result of the way I have grown up
03:59or the things that I have been exposed to growing up
04:02but today I can very happily say that even though there is a lot more for me to do
04:07and a lot more that I want to do, this is pretty much what I kind of wanted
04:13in terms of being a pan Indian face, working with the kinds of directors that I am working with
04:19like for me quality over quantity, dignity and credibility over instant
04:26you know like instant success or fame
04:31I want to create timeless cinema, timeless characters I mean that's my yearning
04:36do you think suddenly even you feel that, you feel a sense of accomplishment for where you have reached
04:42I don't know if I feel a sense of accomplishment
04:45but I do feel very happy when people around me tell me that they are proud of me
04:50or they are proud of the way in which I have worked
04:55I think that matters to me a lot because there are a lot of good artists out there
04:59there is a lot of talent out there
05:01but I think it's also your attitude and the way that you work
05:05ultimately the choices that you make really define the artist that you are
05:10I don't have so much of a sense of it because I don't think about it like that
05:15to me it's like that moment, that learning
05:19then yearning for something else, yearning to work with the next
05:23so I am constantly as an artist I am thinking like that
05:27I don't want to be that person who stabs somebody in the back and then gets the next big role
05:31I don't, I never want to be that person
05:33having said that I want to do it well and I want to you know
05:37keep pushing myself, I want those experiences
05:40so I know that today the conversation around outsiders, insiders is very, very hectic
05:47having said that I don't like using these words because it creates that divide
05:52ultimately at the end of the day we are all artists
05:55yes, some people may come from a place of privilege
05:58my opportunities may be less
06:01they might have cushioning when they fall, I might scrape my knees when I fall
06:05ultimately when we have that passion to work and when we love our craft
06:10we all get up and start running again
06:14we all work hard, our struggles are different
06:17I personally don't like making that difference because I think it's unfair
06:22and I don't want to be that person
06:24you know it's interesting we are just surviving the time as well Aditi
06:27I mean at the end of the day you have movies up for release which is amazing
06:33again a theatrical film I was looking forward to it
06:37looking forward to releasing it in a theatre
06:40but it's just gotten an incredible response
06:45also it's a film that's very special to me
06:47Mohan Krishna Induganti he introduced me to Telugu cinema with a film called Sammohanam
06:52I just felt like it takes a second to be a hero
06:55it's that split second decision that makes a character into a heroic character
07:00and Sahiba doesn't slap anybody, doesn't kick anybody, no flying punches
07:06but it's the courage of her heart and her decision to give up everything in her life
07:12that is dear to her, her love, her life, her unborn child, everything
07:17to save an unknown little girl
07:21and it's so amazing how a love story with such a short duration on screen
07:28can get so much love and can be so believable to people
07:32for people to root for that love story
07:35so I really, really enjoyed working on this film and it's so special
07:39and it really tells me a lot about how cinema characters can impact people
07:45ultimately as an actor what do I want
07:47suppose in the case of V, the film pretty much belongs to the hero
07:51and sometimes the film belongs to the heroine and sometimes it belongs to both
07:56but I feel what's important is for people to take you home with them in their hearts
