00:00Hello, I'm Mike Micah, Studio Head here at Digital Eclipse.
00:03We are the studio behind the upcoming Tetris Forever,
00:06which is a collection of some of the best Tetris games of all time.
00:09But in particular, there's one game in there that's brand new.
00:12It's Tetris Time Warp. Let's go take a look at it with Jason Cirillo,
00:15our Lead Designer and Lead Programmer on the project.
00:18As we do with these Gold Master Series releases,
00:21we usually try to do a little something of our own that we add in there.
00:25So it was like, how do we celebrate Tetris history
00:28and weave that in in a meaningful way, but also think about game design
00:31and make it really fun and enjoyable.
00:33And that's very much kind of like what the whole project is.
00:36It's an interactive documentary, and now here's an interactive bit of history
00:39that you're making with Tetris Time Warp.
00:42You start off playing modern Tetris.
00:44As you're playing the game, every time you level up, which is clearing 10 lines,
00:47you'll get a special time warp tetromino.
00:53And if you clear a line, you time warp into that area.
00:59You'll have 20 seconds on a clock,
01:02and you have to complete a small challenge.
01:07We've got the Electronica 60 version from 1984.
01:10We have the handheld version from 1989.
01:13And then we have a bombless-style Tetris game from circa 1993.
01:19This kind of effect where you get to go through time and play different games,
01:22you use that as a multiplayer component in the game.
01:26Oh, come on.
01:28Your opponents will get time warped into that era,
01:30and they can't get back to the modern era until they complete that challenge.
01:35And while they're stuck in the past, so to speak, they can't attack anyone.
01:39I'm stuck in the past as well, and so my savior.
01:42As things come up, it's like, I can play this. This is easy.
01:45Oh, boy.
01:47So that's Tetris Time Warp.
01:49It's part of Tetris Forever coming out later this year on PC, Xbox, Switch, and PlayStation.
