00:00We will be joined live by Dianne Guerrero who is in Cotabato for a special coverage
00:06to give us a glimpse of what will happen when the new PTV Cotabato Regional Center opens.
00:12We will also have an update from the Bank of Morro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao or BARM.
00:18Go ahead, Dianne. Good morning.
00:22Thank you very much, Audrey. Good morning, Correspondents.
00:24We are live here in Cotabato City for the inauguration of the PTV Cotabato City Regional Center.
00:32What can we expect here?
00:34Later at 3 p.m., the program will begin where Hon. Muhammad Ali de la Cruz Matabalao,
00:43the mayor of Cotabato City, and PTNI General Manager Toby Nebrida are expected to attend.
00:48Actually, last night was very historic that we were able to anchor live for the very first time
00:53at the PTV Cotabato Regional Center.
00:55According to the leadership of PTNI, through the Regional Center,
01:00the voice will be heard more by the residents of Morro.
01:03The news about the development of the place here in BARM will be brought to the public
01:10and the residents of Morro will be empowered.
01:14According to Engineer Gil Orense, the Chief Digital and Innovation Officer of PTNI,
01:20the Regional Center is not just a facility,
01:24but a symbol of the commitment of the PTV to inclusivity and continuous development.
01:29It is expected that the PTV Cotabato Regional Center will be able to reach the whole of Danau,
01:36part of Lanao, part of Sultan Kudarat, and part of North Cotabato Province.
01:41The PTV plans to be an instrument of the Regional Center
01:45to reach the island provinces of Tawi-Tawi, Basilan, Lanao del Sur, and Lanao del Norte.
01:51Stay tuned for more details about the inauguration of the PTV Cotabato Regional Center
01:57here on Pambansang TV and our social media platforms.
02:01Meanwhile, we are here in front of the ORC, or the Ozem Regional Center.
02:07This is the office of the Chief Minister here in BARM.
02:11And here in the compound where we are located,
02:13the majority of the offices of the BARM ministries are located.
02:17And speaking about BARM, at this point, we will be joined live by Mr. Amin Andrew Alonto,
02:24the Executive Director of the Bangsamora Information Office
02:27to discuss the voters' education here at BARM,
02:30and to provide an update on tourism here, and other topics.
02:33Sir Andrew, good morning to you.
02:36Good morning.
02:37Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh, Diane, and to all our viewers here at Rise and Shine Philippines.
02:42Sir Andrew, next year, we'll have the inaugural parliamentary election.
02:46So, you're doing voters' education. Tell us more about this.
02:51Yes, that's right.
02:52God willing, next year, if nothing changes,
02:56we will have the first ever BARM parliamentary elections.
03:00It's very important that we educate our constituents here
03:04because the situation of BARM is unique from the rest of the country.
03:09It is only here in the Bangsamora where we have a parliamentary system of government.
03:14So, the manner of elections of a parliamentary form of government is different.
03:20It's different from the regular elections that we're used to.
03:23So, that's why we're promoting the voters' education campaign that we're doing.
03:27We've started since last year, and hopefully, continuously until next year.
03:34So, it will continue.
03:35Sir Andrew, how is the feedback of the attendees here?
03:39Well, it's a good thing that we're doing our voters' education on the ground
03:44because we know that the situation of Bangsamoro,
03:48we have remote areas where we can't reach them through traditional media and even social media.
03:56So, through those kinds of activities, our face-to-face activities,
04:02we immediately know what their concerns are.
04:05And there are some portions who are still not aware
04:09on how to run a parliamentary form of government
04:14and how they will be elected or elected.
04:18It's a good thing that the voters' education continues here in Bangsamoro.
04:22Now, sir, I'm different when it comes to the tourism sector.
04:25Actually, I arrived here yesterday.
04:28I haven't been able to go around,
04:30but I heard that there are a lot of places that should be visited here in BARMM.
04:37So, how is the state of tourism here in BARMM, sir?
04:40Well, here in BARMM, we're slowly opening our gates and doors to tourism.
04:47We're slowly seeing the progress that tourism is already visiting us.
04:52In fact, the latest figure that we had since the establishment of BARMM
04:56is that we have already welcomed more than 700,000 tourists.
05:02Of course, that number is still quite far from the other regular tourist destinations in the Philippines,
05:08but we're seeing the progress.
05:10We're seeing the progress.
05:11Currently, I think we have 231 tourist spots here in BARMM.
05:17And it's already mixed.
05:18We have beaches, we have museums, historical sites.
05:22So, we continue to invite our investors.
05:26In fact, our Ministry of Trade, Investment, and Tourism,
05:30they are forming a business congress where we invite investors.
05:35Hopefully, one day, they would open up businesses here in the Bangsamoro.
05:40If there are tourists who will visit BARMM,
05:42what are the recommended places or spots that they should visit first?
05:47And what is the number of days that they can stay here
05:51that you think is reasonable to have a good experience
05:55when it comes to visiting various tourist spots here in BARMM?
05:59Well, our entry points in BARMM are different.
06:03If you're talking about here in Cotabato City,
06:06we have a direct flight from Manila to Cotabato City.
06:09That's daily.
06:10So, here in Cotabato City, you can visit the Sultan Bolquia Grand Mosque.
06:14It's one of the largest mosques here in mainland Mindanao.
06:19For those in northern Mindanao,
06:21they can go down through Cagayan de Oro to visit Llano del Sur.
06:25In Llano del Sur, we can see Lake Lanao,
06:28which is one of the ancient lakes in the world.
06:32That lake is huge.
06:33In fact, it's the second largest lake here in the Philippines, second to Laguna.
06:37And then, in our island provinces,
06:40they can visit Basilan and Tawi-Tawi.
06:44They have one of the most exquisite beaches,
06:46pristine beaches here in the Philippines.
06:56In terms of security,
06:58that's also one very important factor
07:00when we're building tourism in an area.
07:03Well, we can safely say that
07:08in peace and order in the security situation here in the Bangsamoro,
07:13it's slowly improving.
07:14Of course, we're not saying 100 percent.
07:20But these are very in remote areas.
07:24You do not see our conflicts compared to before,
07:28in the early 90s and 80s.
07:32The improvement is very different now.
07:34We can see that with the investments that we have here in the Bangsamoro.
07:39In fact, we have 3.9 billion worth of investment here in the Bangsamoro for 2024 alone.
07:47That's a testament that our business owners are very confident to invest here in the Bangsamoro.
07:53It is thriving.
07:54All right.
08:10That's a big help.
08:12Because here in the Bangsamoro,
08:16we're celebrating our six years by next year.
08:21But we know that those six years are still infant in terms of governance.
08:25So we still have a lot to do.
08:28So that's a big help.
08:31If we have the PTV regional center here,
08:34in terms of information dissemination,
08:35as I said earlier,
08:37we still have a lot of communities here in the barn.
08:41So with that maybe potential partnership in the future with PTV,
08:46then our reach will be wider in forming our communities.
08:50All right.
08:50Sir Andrew, we are also with the other hosts from the studio.
08:54And I understand you have a question for Sir Andrew.
08:57What is your question?
08:58Well, Dian, let me ask Sir Andrew.
09:01If for the first time, with the help of the PTV regional center in Maykotabato,
09:06what are the initials that you want to feature when it comes to culture and tradition of bar owners?
09:13All right.
09:14And Audrey is asking Sir Andrew,
09:16now with the inauguration of PTV regional center here in Kotobato,
09:21what are the first things you thought of to feature?
09:25What news do you want to reach the public about the bar?
09:29Well, definitely the positive side.
09:32We know that the majority of the Philippines have a perception about the Bangsamoro.
09:40And with this new establishment of PTV regional center,
09:46we get to shed light more about the Bangsamoro, the positive side,
09:50the people, the very rich culture that we have here, the lifestyle,
09:55and tourism, everything that's the positive changes that has been happening
10:03since the establishment.
10:04And with the help of everyone, I hope we can showcase that to the whole of the Philippines.
10:10Well, actually, that's also one of the goals of PTV Kotobato regional center,
10:17that the developments here in the bar will reach the public.
10:22And also, I believe that this will also open
10:25opportunities for those who want to enter the broadcast industry, right Sir?
10:29That's correct.
10:30That's correct.
10:31Here, our broadcast industry is thriving.
10:35We have universities here.
10:37We have schools.
10:38And who knows, right?
10:40Our young people now, they will see broadcast as a career for them.
10:45All right, Sir.
10:46Maybe just a message to our viewers and to our cars.
10:49Tell us more about the bar.
10:51Well, to all the viewers that are watching here on Rise and Shine Pilipinas,
10:56we are inviting everyone to be more informed about the Bangsamoro.
11:00We have the Bangsamoro government official Facebook page.
11:04That's where you can see all the developments that are happening here in Bangsamoro.
11:09Hopefully, one day, we get to see you visit our beautiful region here.
11:14And, yeah.
11:17All right.
11:17Of course, Sir.
11:18I will definitely go back here to the bar
11:21because it's like a short stay.
11:22With my short stay here, you won't be able to go around everything.
11:26Sir Andrew, thank you very much.
11:27Sir Amin Andrew Alonto, the Executive Director of the Bangsamoro Information Office.
11:33Thank you, Sir Andrew.
11:34Thank you very much for joining us here on Rise and Shine Pilipinas.
11:38Let's take a look at the latest from Cotabato City, here in the bar.
11:42I am Diane Quirero for Pambansang TV in the new Philippines.
11:46Back to the studio.
11:48Maraming salamat, Diane.
11:49At salamat din po kay Executive Director for Bangsamoro Information Office,
11:52Mr. Amin Andrew Alonto.
