00:00There is no truth to the MMDA warning mall owners to prohibit sale events to ease heavy traffic on
00:05the streets in the season of Advent and Christmas. Meanwhile, there is no denying TNVs are cherry
00:11picking service hours on the road, choosing to go on duty when traffic is less heavy,
00:16even as commuters or patrons of TNVs complain of one-sided booking cancellation penalties
00:22as we hear more from our Daniel Manalastas.
00:25The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority denied reports of prohibiting mall-wide sales
00:33just to ease the heavy traffic, especially this holiday season. During the Senate Committee on
00:38Public Services hearing, the MMDA stressed it is not empowered to declare, let alone enforce
00:45such restriction, but they have an appeal. We never ban or prohibit the mall-wide sale.
00:54Meanwhile, during the hearing, problems troubling TNVs like Grab were raised,
00:59as there are reports of commuters having a hard time booking during rush hour and whenever it rains.
01:14Senators also brought up the issue of sound drivers canceling book trips.
01:24Meanwhile, according to the LTFRB, violators are being penalized.
01:47It's a penalty of P5,000. The violation is refusal to convey.
01:55Aside from TNVs, senators also brought up issues hounding motorcycle techies, like this complaint.
02:16Daniel Manalastas from the National TV for a new and better Philippines.
