00:00Oh, man, I don't know.
00:02That's the only thing about you.
00:03Sure, I'm taking it off.
00:05What's up, GQ?
00:06It's Lamar Jackson.
00:07Here's 10 things I can't live without.
00:09My first essential is my Bible.
00:22Can't live without the Bible, can't live without God.
00:24You know, he's the one who wake me up each and every day.
00:26You know, he's the one who has me performing
00:28in my profession or just doing my profession,
00:31something I want to do all my life.
00:32You know, we pray before games
00:34and we pray together after the games.
00:35You know, win, lose, draw, whatever.
00:37You know, we still pray.
00:38Gotta give God the glory no matter what.
00:40I grew up in a church.
00:41I don't be in church a lot
00:42because obviously I play football on Sundays.
00:44But when I can, I'm definitely in church.
00:45Redeeming Rural Christian Center
00:47in Fort Lauderdale Beach.
00:48So my favorite Bible verse is Mark 6 and 4.
00:50Basically explaining a prophet is recognized
00:53outside his own home better, basically.
00:55You know, it's like, I feel like sometimes
00:58that happens in my life.
00:59You know, I go through stuff like that.
01:01So it's my favorite verse.
01:07My cologne.
01:08What made me want to make my own cologne
01:10is me just wanting to smell good.
01:12Okay, people may not know this about me,
01:14but I'd rather prefer like girl perfume or something,
01:18like something real soft.
01:19So that's what made me want to create something unisex,
01:21you know, instead of just all about us men.
01:24You know, I was like, man,
01:25I like to smell like a female sometimes.
01:26So get something that can, you know, be in between.
01:30Can you describe the scent?
01:31Describe?
01:35Wonderful, soft.
01:37For the women, sexy probably.
01:39For the guys, how we be?
01:41You know, like a man.
01:43So you can get this right here on aeratepair.com.
01:46Nightlight.
01:52My business partner and I came up with something
01:54to help you guys out, you know.
01:56Help you guys out on travel expenses, you know,
01:58just we got to go to the gyms and this and that.
02:01You can just do it at home.
02:03Got everything you need right here.
02:04Got the barbell, dumbbell, a mat.
02:07You can even play your music here, you know,
02:09connect your phone, your iPad.
02:10The speaker's already included.
02:12You know, a little family getaway vacation
02:14or anything like that.
02:15You can do your own thing at home in your room.
02:17You can do any workout you want to do.
02:19Over 250 workouts you can do with their tights.
02:23Cookies.
02:24Can't go without my cookies.
02:26This is part of my cheat day.
02:27Like if I'm going to have a cheat day with a meal
02:29or a snack or something,
02:31I'm going to go to cookies and milk.
02:33I feel like Santa Claus, right?
02:35You know, I don't get my milk and cookies.
02:37Right now I have peanut butter and sugar cookies.
02:40I also like macadamia cookies as well.
02:43Those are my top three.
02:49You know, I'm a big fan of macadamia.
02:52You know, I'm not going to try the peanut butter one.
03:00These are some good cookies, right?
03:02For my next essential, my hoodie.
03:05Era 8.
03:09How would I describe my style?
03:11I'm chill.
03:12Like, if I don't have to dress up in a tie, I wouldn't.
03:15Like, I like to be comfortable.
03:17Growing up, I always seen you like polo raffling.
03:21I'm like, when I get to the league,
03:22I might want to start my own brand.
03:23Like sportswear or just, you know, business casual.
03:27Like stuff you can just vibe in.
03:28Comfortable clothing, you know?
03:29And that's pretty much how I started the Era 8 apparel.
03:32We have womenwear, obviously pants, hoodies.
03:35We got slides.
03:35We have it all.
03:36You know, the only thing we don't have is sneakers yet.
03:39Coming soon.
03:40And we also have business attire coming soon.
03:43Stay tuned for that.
03:48Slides.
03:49I can't go nowhere without slides.
03:51I could be playing sports in slides.
03:53I've done it.
03:55Man, I have so many different type of brand of slides.
03:59If it's a slide, then I probably have it.
04:02I prioritize my comfort over everything.
04:05I wish I can go to the games wearing slides,
04:07but you know, coach prefers sneakers.
04:10So I gotta wear my sneakers.
04:11But right after the game,
04:13I probably got some slides in the car.
04:14So if I get out at a gas station or something,
04:17I probably got on slides.
04:18This is what my game day fit.
04:21Shirt.
04:22It's always been a thing of mine to have as a kid.
04:25I got pictures and stuff with bracelets on, chains on.
04:29That's something I grew up into.
04:31You want me to show it off?
04:34I just printed this right here.
04:36Trust.
04:37Something we say down there in Florida.
04:39Trust, like, basically a grin.
04:41Like, trust, okay, okay.
04:42Like, you know, just something we got going on.
04:44And I just love it.
04:45And these right here, I just had an iPhone.
04:48I got eyes right here with rose.
04:51It don't mean anything, it's just something I like.
04:54And these right here are the hearts.
04:55Just kind of fell in love with it.
04:57And this right here was a gift.
04:58I definitely love this one.
04:59Shout out to Snacks Customs at Diamond Talk.
05:01They the ones who did this for me.
05:02Snacks did this one actually for me.
05:04I don't know if y'all can see it or not.
05:07That's the only thing about jersey.
05:09Taking it off.
05:11My initials right here.
05:13I prefer yellow gold.
05:14Like I said, that's something I was accustomed to.
05:16Like, just growing up, having bracelets and chains.
05:20Like, it's always been gold.
05:21I was never into white gold.
05:25My next essential is my children's book.
05:28I thought about writing a book
05:30after I got a five out of six on my FCAT rights.
05:33I was in my English class, you know.
05:35In Florida, we got to go to FCAT rights.
05:37I think I was getting like threes
05:38and I think you need a four to pass.
05:40And I'm like, I don't think I'm gonna ever get this right.
05:43Like this is right and it's not for me.
05:45And eventually I ended up getting a five
05:47and I was like ecstatic.
05:49I was just going crazy.
05:50Like I was hype.
05:51I wish I would have like took a picture
05:53or something back then,
05:54even though I was in 11th grade at the time.
05:56And it's crazy.
05:56I play for Ravens now,
05:57but I was writing about Ray Lewis and got a five.
06:00So that inspired me a little.
06:02My book is called, I Dream, You Dream, We Dream.
06:05And it's basically just letting people know
06:07like you can be anything in the world.
06:08You just don't have to be a football player
06:10or a basketball player or a rapper or a singer
06:13or anything like that.
06:14The youth is so important to me
06:15because I was once a child
06:17and it was plenty of times where I'm looking at people,
06:20icons and stuff like that on TV.
06:22And it's like, why don't they come like,
06:24like just come and show their face and stuff like that.
06:26I was impacted by that.
06:27It's like, man, I want to see some celebrities,
06:29you know, come back and, you know,
06:31just show love to the kids,
06:32not really adults and stuff like that,
06:34but just to the kids.
06:34And I was at this fun day
06:36with that Blanche Ealy High School when I was a kid
06:38and they just had us out there
06:40and just playing football and stuff,
06:41meeting other football players,
06:43Randy Moss and those guys come out and show love to us.
06:46And I was like, man, when I get older,
06:48I'm gonna do the same things.
06:49I always like to give back.
06:50Forever Dream is my foundation.
06:52It's a nonprofit.
06:53I know if I can afford or I can help these kids,
06:55you know, with the organization,
06:58I'm gonna do the best of my ability, you know,
06:59for they can have something to do outside of just football.
07:02When football season over,
07:03people just going home and probably getting into trouble.
07:05I got my foundation.
07:06I got 707 going on.
07:08I can come out and still be playing football,
07:09even during the off season
07:11and just keep y'all out of trouble, really.
07:12I got my second one,
07:13got coming out too as well.
07:15The My Ride, Our Ride,
07:16that's gonna be the second one.
07:17I want to do a children's cartoon.
07:19I want to do like a voiceover or something.
07:21Like, I think I reached out to Samuel L. Jackson
07:23because I seen him doing something like that.
07:24So I'm like, man,
07:25help me get in the door to do a voiceover
07:27for like something like animated,
07:29like, you know, with children or something like that.
07:33All my life, I've been drinking water.
07:34When I was a kid,
07:35like my mama go buy juice or something.
07:37Before we finish our dinner,
07:39we're not drinking no juice.
07:40We're just drinking water, water.
07:41If you don't finish that dinner,
07:42you're gonna just keep drinking water.
07:44So like, that's pretty much just how it was just natural
07:46for us, just water.
07:48Like, don't get me wrong,
07:48I drink my juice and stuff,
07:50but water is it, like water the best.
07:52It doesn't matter the brand of water at all.
07:55I'm going to drink me some water.
07:57Like, I prefer natural spring water though.
08:00Still, still, still, it gotta be still.
08:02Natural spring, still water.
08:04Nothing else, no sparkling,
08:06whatever else that people put in water,
08:09I don't need all that, you know,
08:10just natural spring, still water.
08:13Music.
08:14I gotta listen to music.
08:16Like, every day I'm going to listen
08:17to something music related.
08:19That's just me.
08:20It don't matter the genre,
08:22I'm just a music guy.
08:23I gotta be here for music.
08:24Came to, I don't need music to get me pumped.
08:26Like, I'm hype regardless.
08:28I'm a new schooler, but I'm an old schooler.
08:30Cause I listened to a lot of 90s and early 2000s,
08:33depending on who it is.
08:34I got one who's incarcerated right now,
08:3626 Coupe, I listen to him.
08:38Early birds, one of them, Major Purpose.
08:40He's smooth.
08:41I listen to Kodak, listen to Future Drake.
08:44I listen to everybody, like.
08:48Appreciate you GQ for having me.
08:49I want you guys to go out and get your children's book,
08:52get your slides, get your milk and cookies.
08:55First and foremost, read your Bible.
08:56And drink water.
