00:00Today we're going to uncover some celebrity fitness secrets.
00:30With Riddick, he's a very clear and calculated person, very, very calculated.
00:48Everything has to be perfect before we can annihilate, you know.
00:52Everything has to be in line and, you know, he has some doubts every now and again.
00:58When we go into the gym and I say, okay, we're lifting this weight on this particular exercise,
01:03he may say, I don't know if I can do that.
01:05I really don't think I can do that.
01:07But he can.
01:08Every single time he always accomplishes it.
01:10Hard part for me working with John is just getting him to go to bed early in the evening.
01:15Like I insist that my clients go to bed very early to make sure that their cortisol levels
01:19remain low.
01:21And he doesn't, he's not just an actor, he wears many hats, whether he's working with
01:26a sports team or he's got a production company or whatever.
01:29So that was always very difficult, but he would never moan, he'd never whinge, he'd
01:33just do his work and that was it.
01:35You know, you could see he was struggling and he was finding it difficult, but he would
01:38never vocalize it.
01:40He would just do what had to be done.
01:42So I haven't worked with Ranveer for a while, but I remember, you know, he was definitely
01:46a foodie and he would get cravings, a lot of cravings.
01:51So obviously we needed to work on that by increasing his fats, increasing his meal frequency,
01:56making sure that he got to bed earlier in the evening.
02:07Number one, don't compare yourself to anybody else.
02:09Don't look online, don't look at the movies, don't look at the magazines and say, I want
02:12to look like that yesterday.
02:15It's a process.
02:16Rome wasn't built in a day.
02:17You have to take your time and train with form and function because if you get injured,
02:22that could put you back years and years.
02:24If you won't even go near the gym again, that could possibly put you off.
02:28Another no-no is don't train every day.
02:30I see so many people who want the results right now that they train six, seven days
02:35a week.
02:36Your body will overtrain.
02:38You can overtrain.
02:39It's too much.
02:40Your body doesn't grow in the gym, it grows outside of the gym.
02:43You actually lose muscle when you're training because you're breaking down muscle tissue.
02:48So it should be no more than an hour, no more than five days a week.
02:54Number three, don't miss out on consistency.
02:57I see so many people that train and eat well four or five days a week, but then come the
03:02weekend, they go and party, they eat cakes, there's a lot of celebrations here in India.
03:08So they're eating sweets, Diwali's coming up, so I know there's going to be more sweets
03:12there as well.
03:14So you have to focus on your consistency, not six days a week, seven days a week.
03:20Number four, do not go into the gym for the first time without having a good, reputable
03:25personal trainer or somebody that's experienced that you could be a training partner with.
03:30So they show you how to do the exercises very, very well to begin with before you start adding
03:36weight to the bar.
03:38And lastly, do not miss out on your cardio.
03:42So many people go, I don't want to bulk up, I want to put on a lot of muscle, I'm not
03:46going to do any cardio.
03:47The most important muscle that you have is your heart.
