00:00Right, I'm Tilly Tallulah Tinkerbell Trott, if you want the full name, but you could call
00:08me Tilly, it's fine. Now, we at the moment are in here, which is the village scene, but
00:13we've got lots of different scenes to come and see. It's really good and there's lots
00:17of colourful and it's lots of fun.
00:19My name is Silly Simon and I play the comic in our pantomime Jack and the Beanstalk.
00:23Tell me a little bit about your pantomime.
00:25Oh, well, it's amazing. We've got loads and loads of fun and laughter and slapstick. We've
00:30got a beautiful cow called Daisy. She's our family's favourite. And obviously Jack and
00:37the Beanstalk, our massive Beanstalk. So, our Jack's going to climb up the Beanstalk
00:41to try and defeat the giant. Oh, and you might just see him because he's huge.
00:46The show is Jack and the Beanstalk. So, my son Jack, I've got two sons, you see. I've
00:50got Jack, well, he's the cleverish one, and I've got Simon, he's the silly one. And Jack
00:55goes up the Beanstalk to try and kill the giant and rescue all of us from that giant
00:59up the stairs. He's horrible, he is. He's horrible.
01:04Following the success of the last few years, this year's pantomime at the Redgrave Theatre
01:09is presented by Polkadot Pantomimes, a company that produces classic British pantomimes throughout
01:15the UK. The company creates inclusive performances that blend traditional pantomimes with a fresh
01:22and modern twist. Let's chat to some of the cast to find out more about this year's production.
01:29So I'm playing the role of Jack, a very young, heroic kind of character who goes up the Beanstalk
01:33to fight the giant to save the whole of Clifton. Oh, it's lovely. We've got a lovely cast and
01:39crew. Everybody's lovely. Not sure about the director, but, you know, you've got to have
01:43one, haven't you? I'm loving it. I'm loving every minute. You
01:44know, we've got a very lovely cast and crew, which are beautiful people, very talented,
01:49very lucky to be here. Pantomime is a traditional British theatre
01:54form with a participatory nature for audiences, often through songs and phrases. But what
02:01can local audiences expect from this production of Jack and the Beanstalk in Clifton? Let's
02:08chat to the cast to find out. Oh, well, I suppose there is a bit where you
02:13may see a ghost or a ghoul. So we have an it's behind you scene with lots of fun and
02:20laughter and a very, very famous song by Beyonce as well that I think that our kids and families
02:25will love and they'll get a shout in us. They can expect lots of laughter, lots of
02:29musical numbers, lots of great scenery and special effects. Lots of fun. Or for me, it
02:34has to be when I fight the giant because then I get to save the whole village.
02:37Oh, I'm allowed to reveal. I think it's all the audience participation. Get them all involved.
02:43Get involved. The shout at us and all that. We love all that.
02:46And what can audiences expect then? You can expect loads of audience participation,
02:51loads of laughs, loads of magic and just a really good fun time.
