00:00President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. ordered the completion of the Major Services Officer Candidate Course of the Armed Forces of the Philippines

00:08to be a pledge of defense to the country for the safety of all Filipinos.

00:21That is the challenge of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to more than 600 new Officers of the Armed Forces of the Philippines

00:28who completed the Major Services Officer Candidate Course of the AFP.

00:32In the President's message, he recognized these in their brave acceptance of the responsibilities

00:38to defend and protect the country.

00:41At the same time, the recognition to the family of those who completed

00:44because of the unparalleled support,

00:46also to the trainers and mentors who served as a guide to the graduating class.

00:50Your graduation day today signifies the culmination of your determination,

00:56sacrifice, and hard work to overcome the challenges of becoming an Officer of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

01:04This marks the beginning of your role to ensure the defense of our nation and the safety of all Filipinos.

01:13The President also recognized the awardees because of their courage and bravery

01:19that will serve as an inspiration for their recognition

01:22to work harder in their duties and be more faithful in serving the Philippines.

01:27Let this be your guiding principle as you step forward.

01:31In the face of evolving threats and modern warfare,

01:35innovation, technical expertise, and leadership rooted in service will be your most powerful weapons.

01:44The President also reiterated the efforts of the government to improve the Armed Forces of the Philippines

01:51to make it a world-class force.

01:53This is through investing in the talents of its members,

01:57modernizing equipment, and improving the training programs of AFP personnel.

02:03We build an AFP that will stand as a beacon of strength,

02:07of alliance, resilience, and technological excellence.

02:11We always remember that every challenge is part of a greater goal.

02:17In every step, your service is not just a duty,

02:22it is an oath for the nation.

02:25An oath for every Filipino.

02:28The Officer Candidate Course is a mandatory training for prospective AFP officers.

02:34It is a formal reminder of their professional military education.

02:38The OCC is a one-year course for baccalaureate degree holders

02:42who are preparing to be mentally, physically, and emotionally fit

02:47to become officers in the Philippine Army and Philippine Air Force

02:50as second lieutenants and in the Philippine Navy as NCOs in the AFP Regular Force.
