00:00UMNO Supreme Council Member Tengku Zafrul Aziz has acknowledged having discussions with

00:07PKR to join the party, but says he has yet to decide on the matter.

00:12In a statement, he said the discussions did not centre on positions at state level or

00:16by elections.

00:18His statement follows speculation that his move to PKR would result in him becoming Menteri

00:23Besar of Selangor.

00:25Tengku Zafrul expressed surprise at statements from UMNO leaders about his position, but

00:30stood by the right of a person to choose a path of political struggle.

00:35He said that without compatibility, it is impossible for an individual to provide the

00:39best service to the people.

00:41Recently, UMNO President Ahmad Zahid Hamidi had criticised those who put personal interests

00:47ahead of party loyalty.

00:49Zahid also said Tengku Zafrul had not informed him of any plans to leave the party.

00:55Tengku Zafrul said he had not received any call from the UMNO leadership to ask about

00:59the real issue, adding that he would officially inform the party leadership of any decision

01:05he makes.
