Being a weatherman is not an easy job. If your forecast ends up being wrong, everyone will blame you, and even if you get the forecast right, people will still complain if it's bad weather. In addition, you have to do the exact same thing on live TV day after day and still find a way to make it interesting and fresh for your audience. Taking all of that into consideration, it's a bit understandable that a meteorologist might get to a point where they lose control, even while being filmed. Let's take a look at some weathermen who lost it on live TV.

00:00TV weathermen and women are trained to handle all kinds of inclement situations, but what
00:05about a spider on a weather cam?
00:07Or a wisecracking co-anchor?
00:08Get your umbrella ready, because these are the meteorologists who lost it on live TV.
00:13In May 2019, a tornado shredded the streets of Dayton, Ohio.
00:18Luckily, locals can't say the alarms weren't sounded, according to Newsweek, thanks to
00:22Fox 45's weatherman Jamie Simpson.
00:24"...all this heavy rain is between you and the tornado."
00:28But not everyone was happy about it.
00:30Simpson's live report, made several hours before the tornadoes rushed through, cut in
00:34on an airing of The Bachelorette.
00:35"...I was just checking social media.
00:37We have viewers complaining already.
00:39Just go back to the show.
00:40No, we're not going back to the show, folks."
00:42Rather than ignore the social media fire, Simpson flipped out.
00:46"...I'm sick and tired of people complaining about this.
00:49Our job here is to keep people safe, and that is what we're going to do."
00:53He added,
00:54"...if you're going to keep people complaining that this is all about my ego, stop, okay?
00:58Just stop right now.
00:59It's not."
01:00The tornado ended up claiming one life, destroying a large part of central Ohio, and injuring
01:0412, according to Today.
01:06When Simpson's clip went viral, Dayton locals praised him for his dedication.
01:11Back in 2005, CNN weather reporter Chad Myers was explaining the situation surrounding Hurricane
01:17Katrina.
01:18But when anchor Carol Costello kept asking him to speak in words the average viewer could
01:22understand, Myers hulked out.
01:23"...Chad, Chad, Chad."
01:24"...but Camille..."
01:25"...Chad."
01:26"...let me talk, Carol!"
01:27"...translate that for us."
01:28Evidently, Myers didn't like the situation.
01:30"...well, if you would let me talk."
01:33By the end, Myers smiled and claimed that he was just having fun, but it sure didn't
01:37look like it.
01:38"...alright, thank you, Chad."
01:39"...alright, just having fun with you this morning."
01:41To be fair, The Week points out that this footage was filmed and broadcast at 4.30 a.m.,
01:46and that's one heck of an hour to keep it together on camera.
01:50A lot of people find the mere sight of a spider too much to bear, including Global News meteorologist
01:54Christy Gordon, who freaked out on live TV when a giant arachnid was projected right
01:59over her head.
02:00"...oh my gosh, that was creepy!"
02:04As you can imagine, her co-workers erupted in hysterical delight.
02:08"...ahhh!"
02:09"...come on!"
02:10"...no, I hate it, I can't stand it!"
02:15Although she was clearly a good sport, it took her a moment to shake off the heebie-jeebies.
02:19"...okay!"
02:20"...oh my gosh, okay, I am so sorry!"
02:27Back when everybody was bonding over the miserable 2018 cold snap, Grand Rapids meteorologist
02:32Gary Frank was clearly tired of everyone complaining, according to the Detroit News.
02:37After reporting day in and day out on Antarctic-style conditions, Frank finally snapped.
02:41"...well, because you guys are dragging me down.
02:45Every time I get done with the seven-day, you guys are like, oh, gosh!"
02:51He continued,
02:52"...every time.
02:53It doesn't matter what time I come on, 4.30, 5.30, 6.30, and then you expect me to be chipper
03:00for five straight hours!"
03:02To be honest, that does sound like a horrible gig.
03:05"...here's a 60, I don't know if that's good enough for you guys.
03:08Get excited, maybe I'll disappoint you with the seven-day here in a few minutes."
03:12CNN reported on WITI-TV's Angelica Doria, who got stuck standing in a Milwaukee snowstorm
03:18for an entire morning, reporting on weather that clearly wasn't going to improve.
03:22But as the lunch hour finally approached, Doria's good spirits melted away and she finally
03:27lit up the screen.
03:28"...I have been here since, what, 3.30 this morning.
03:31I'm exhausted.
03:32I've run out of things to say, it is snowing, and it sucks here!"
03:36Not surprisingly, everyone back in the studio applauded.
03:39Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Rio, Milwaukee!"
03:43Australian weather reporter Steve Jacobs once met a curious pelican named Marnie while reporting
03:48from the zoo.
03:49"...brushes the south of the…
03:50AHH!
03:51AHH!
03:52AHH!
03:53AHH!
03:54AHH!
03:55AHH!
03:56AHH!
03:57AHH!
03:58AHH!
03:59AHH!
04:00AHH!
04:01AHH!
04:02AHH!
04:03AHH!
04:04AHH!
04:05AHH!
04:06AHH!
04:07AHH!
04:08AHH!"
04:09Marnie was laughing.
04:10"...I gotta sit down!
04:11Woo!
04:12When animals attack, there's a beauty never expected!
04:15And my butt's hanging off my pelican!"
04:18In 2017, Fox 2 weather reporter Derek Kevra got so infuriated by people who didn't properly
04:23clean the snow off their cars that he filmed an entire sequence explaining how to do it.
04:28"...night, this must be a really hard concept for people to understand."
04:31Kevra proceeded to sarcastically demonstrate how to use a snow brush and ice scraper.
04:36"...you're gonna begin with a generic left-to-right swipe, then a couple inches below that, you'll
04:42swipe back."
04:43He added,
04:44"...and it's this scientific swiping motion that you will use not only on the sides, but
04:49the back, and all the way around 360 degrees."
04:53The raging fury is so clear that it paints a magnificent portrait of what happens when
04:57you finally push a weatherman too far.
05:00"...now I know, I know, it seems like a lot, but I promise if you follow those simple steps,
05:07you too will be able to clear the snow off of your car."
05:12If you're Boston's Weather Channel meteorologist James Cantori, the most glorious weather phenomenon
05:17of all is when lightning strikes during a snowstorm.
05:20During a televised segment in 2015, Cantori got so psyched about this bizarre phenomenon
05:25that he screamed,
05:26"...oh yes, yes, yes, we got it, baby!"
05:30According to the Washington Post, Cantori is well-known throughout the weather community
05:34for his passion for so-called thundersnow.
05:37Cantori told the Boston Globe it's, quote, "...kind of like two seasons coming together."
05:41"...we got it, yes, listen to that, listen to that, oh baby!"
05:48For his sake, and the sake of his fans, hopefully another rocking thundersnow happens again
05:53soon.
05:54Back in 2010, according to the BBC, weatherman Thomas Schafernacker got caught in a rather
05:59awkward snafu when cameras switched over a second too fast, revealing him brandishing
06:04a prominent middle finger.
06:05"...correct and provide all the detail you could possibly want.
06:07I've just seen Thomas Schafernacker preparing for it, so I'm not entirely..."
06:13Schafernacker tried to cover it up, but no one was convinced.
06:15"...every now and then there's always one mistake.
06:18That was it."
06:19A spokesman for the BBC quickly issued an apology, but this wasn't the first time that
06:23Schafernacker's sense of humor got him into trouble.
06:26He previously had to apologize for calling a region, quote, "'nowheresville'' during
06:30a 2007 segment, and in 2009, he accidentally mispronounced the phrase "'muddy sight'' as
06:35a swear word.
