In this episode, I host an Ask Me Anything (AMA) session where I share my experiences working at a café, reflecting on the dynamics shaped by language barriers with co-workers and navigating mixed feelings towards a nitpicky colleague. I discuss the unrealistic expectations created by social media platforms like Instagram and TikTok, highlighting their impact on self-image and attention spans in our digital age. Transitioning into gaming, I share my enjoyment of Baldur's Gate 3, emphasizing its narrative depth and my escapism through multiple playthroughs. Additionally, I explore societal issues surrounding youth fashion choices and advocate for authenticity in friendships. The episode concludes with a lighthearted mention of my plans to see Gladiator 2, setting a playful tone as we wrap up this exploration of modern experiences.

00:00All right you hold that we're here i hold it can i put it there no no hold it up a little okay now you're gonna be doing most of the talking i'm such a yapper.
00:09Jesus god it's like a machine gun as you can tell guys canadian winters are very fun to drive and they are here our car is not working i'm kidding we're good.
00:20Okay so we're doing an AMA for izzy me haha i'm not very good at intros as you can tell however.
00:29I will pretend to be good at intros and we're gonna start thanks for the input beautiful.
00:38Okay question number one how is work going at the new cafe it's going well i like the cafe it's it's
00:46an interesting environment because there's some language barriers between me and my co-workers
00:50because their english is not very good but it is it's a really nice environment way less stressful
00:56than the other place i worked at which was everyone was like nitpicking everything i have
01:00one co-worker who's like that but everyone else is pretty chill so that's sorry to see those of
01:05you who don't know and everyone's had this experience at one time or another yeah it's
01:08the co-worker who pretends she's a boss oh yeah not exactly a boss because my boss is still chill
01:15like if i say like an authority maybe yeah yeah but yeah she's uh she's she's really annoying but
01:22everyone else is okay the only problem is that i do have a most of my shifts with her the biggest
01:27problem with the workplace is when i say i have most of my shifts i mean i have two days a week
01:32when i was hired to be put on close to full time yeah they were aiming for full time and it's just
01:37not that many hours which is a shame and sometimes like the manager will send out like updated hours
01:43throughout the week so maybe i have like a 13 hour work week which is good for this place which is
01:47kind of ridiculous but she puts out an updated one where it's like it gets reduced to like 11
01:51hours or something i'm not a bad worker because they have basically two full-time people and then
01:56everyone else gets like 10 to 15 hours a week which is really bad because they did say they
02:00were putting me on for close to full time and i got more hours when i'm training they gave me a
02:05bunch of hours because it was like coming these three days for like long shifts you can see how
02:10the cafe operates for a day but once i'm out of training it's like not much but it's not a bad
02:15workplace just as long as i get less shifts with that one co-worker i'll be happy yes
02:21so she just every time you make even the tiniest mistake for the rest of the day she's like oh but
02:26don't make that mistake again no no it's not it's worse than that because like i know how to mop
02:32right everyone knows how to mop and then she'll come out and she's like what are you doing and i'm
02:37like i'm mopping the floor like you asked and she's like well why didn't you clean the kitchen and i'm
02:42like because you told me to mop the floor and she's like well i told you to clean the kitchen i'm like
02:46well i can't do everything at once and also there were a lot of food orders so i did clean the
02:50kitchen earlier today but it's gotten dirty since and she's like well why don't you go clean the
02:54kitchen and then five minutes later she'll be like why is this not mopped yeah yeah so it's
02:59it's that kind of person like you can't win no matter what you do yeah yeah and yeah go ahead
03:04no go ahead no you go well i've obviously trained you in that from birth yeah it's very sickly
03:09familiar yeah yeah okay hi izzy what is the number one problem that people have these days
03:14one word answer i'm gonna co-join the word social media go on or i'm just gonna say like
03:21tablets or iphone or whatever i mean they said one word answer i guess i gotta move on no no no
03:27that's a one word introduction one word introduction would be like social media or like
03:32digital stuff like that stuff i think it's messing with a lot of people's just like attention spans
03:38would be the biggest one i think it's sets a lot of unrealistic standards just for anything like
03:43whether it's like how you should look or how you should act i see these these videos and most of
03:49the ones i see are people actually making fun of them where it's like you see oh my morning routine
03:54and you get up at freaking like 5 a.m and have like you do everything like you clean your entire
04:00house you do this and then they're they say all this stuff like now i drink a cup of boiling water
04:05with like half a lemon it's just like i have an ice bath do 400 crunches yeah yeah it's what those
04:10things are it's not even like the stuff with like how you look at how you act or what you do for
04:14work it's just stuff like like that as well where it's like having i want to say quote-unquote
04:19unrealistic standards for how to live day-to-day life i know some people just watch them for
04:26entertaining but i feel like for a lot of people it really seeps in i think there's a lot of them
04:30sorry to interrupt there's some of them that are like your job sucks because my job is like well
04:36i come in on the bus or those as well yeah and then you know they have frothy lattes and then i
04:42do a little bit of work and then we do cool stuff on the roof among the potted plants and it's like
04:49nobody has a job that's accurate i want to make six figures and it's like nobody's job is that
04:54good yeah so it's a lot of stuff where i think it's it's just sets i want to say unrealistic
04:58standards and i know that is kind of an overused term nowadays but i think it's it's kind of real
05:02for social media and again the biggest one would be ruining attention spans especially among younger
05:07people so how does how's that playing out for you for you and your set i don't mind like i think my
05:12attention spans are okay they could be better and they were a bit better before i discovered youtube
05:17shorts but or really instagram reels or anything like that that's just like those short like minute
05:22long clips minute minute minute it's like an it's extended movies for those guys honestly but i know
05:29i see it in a lot of my friends just like it doesn't even really matter what like whether
05:33you're telling a story or you're in class they're just like fidgeting and bored and you should be
05:38able to sit through a 30 minute thing without like or hear a normal human told story yeah or
05:44hear a normal story without trying to interrupt and make joke constantly and stuff like that
05:48obviously they're teenagers i'm a teenager so it is what it is but you should have a little bit more
05:55attention span just for anything well and i think we combat that a little bit with longer stories we
06:01come by that a little bit with longer conversations we come by that a little bit with longer dungeons
06:05and i feel like even watching okay like people say like oh it's bad to binge watch movies or shows
06:11i think watching like 40 minutes or sorry watching like two or three episodes of some series on
06:17netflix or whatever you're up to is way better than watching an hour worth of shorts or half an
06:22hour worth of shorts because at least it's a long continual story you can think about the plot i don't
06:27think you should be doing that every day but still like it's so much better to watch a long movie or
06:32a few episodes of a show than like short videos on real instagram or twitter whatever it is are you
06:38excited to learn how to drive wait wait one other thing it's the sort of absence of socializing
06:43without without computers oh yeah i would like to see my friends go for a day without their phones
06:49it would not it could not just get together to talk chat or like but without like here's a funny
06:55meme here's a funny short here's a you know no it's ridiculous we'll go to some theme park like
07:00canada's wonderland and we're in the lineup it's like a 10 minute lineup because no one goes to
07:04canada's wonderland um i mean they do but it's like we we find the right times to go right it's
07:09a 10 minute lineup they'll pull out their phones guys use your words and talk and obviously i mean
07:16they can and definitely some of them do so like if it's six of us going there's usually two or
07:20three that will go without their phones yeah all the time so we'll talk and then the other three
07:24will be showing each other videos and stuff like that right it's like guys it's not it's 10 minutes
07:29like well when i was a i guess about a little younger than you i was still in england and we
07:35all used to watch doctor who it gave me serious ptsd like the upside down garbage cans known as
07:41the exterminate darlings but there was one kid who had real hippie parents they had no tv
07:46yeah and he could not participate in like half the conversations because the brain rot was real
07:51even back there well genuinely like when i before i think when i uh what am i trying to say last
07:57year i didn't really do much anything on social media and i still don't do much but i if i watched
08:03like i don't know youtube i'd watch some like game lore video or something that doesn't have
08:09anything to do with current events the only current events would be like the game came out
08:12a month ago or something like that right but my friends would say stuff like memes or trends and
08:18i'd just be like what are you on about because i had like no idea or they make a joke and i'd just
08:23be staring at them like what so it's definitely i think you should do a little bit of social media
08:28to keep up with the trends but just not the extent that a lot of people do it nowadays or problem
08:33oh sorry hang on this has caused me a fair amount of personal pain and i'm just going to unpack this
08:37for the audience so ever since baldur's gate 3 we've been looking for a game to play wait a second
08:43we got a game update on baldur's gate we'll get there we'll get there so we're looking for a game
08:47to play now one of the things that's been personally the most painful to me and i'm not just
08:52talking about like recently but like in my entire life ever is you're very much into video game lore
08:58right and so i'll find a game and i'll say this looks interesting and what do you say you say
09:04oh the lore for this is incredible right yeah but the gameplay sucks but my hope will go up
09:11because if you like the lore i'm like oh well we should play then and you say there's a reason i
09:15watch the lore and don't play the games i do not have the time to invest in like a 20 hour game
09:21follow all the story and get it done soon enough that i don't forget what happened a month ago when
09:26i started playing okay i watched the lore video and then maybe i'll watch some gameplay and if
09:31the gameplay looks like some just the same old same old shooter it doesn't matter what same old
09:36shooter you have and you don't have to spend 30 dollars on a new game to get the exact same
09:39gameplay style as a game we already have i love all the backstories in lord of the rings would
09:44you like to read lord of the rings no because i've already read it i'm not gonna re-watch the
09:48same lore video twice all right i'm i'm trying to listen to what you say with calm and rationality
09:55but okay i'm failing i'm trying though let's move on all right are you excited to learn how to drive
09:59and get your license i'm excited to drive i'm not excited for like the freaking like year-long
10:05process to get my license yeah it's like take this test which i think i can do fine i'm like
10:12i know the basics and i'll study a bit and stuff like right right but take the test pass the test
10:17then you have to drive for a year with another supervised or or supervising driver no no the
10:22technical term is nagger yeah a nagger in the car don't forget to turn signal check your blind spot
10:29i'm never driving with mom or you fair gonna get like someone else you'll hire someone yeah i'll
10:34hire someone but then it's like and then do that for a year or eight months or whatever it is i
10:38don't even know and then like take this oh also you have to do that then if you want to get it in
10:44under like 16 months you have to go with like a driving instructor look i get it you know driving
10:49in canada's complicated because the roads get icy and it gets way harder when it's icy but like i
10:55don't like that it has to be like a year and a half to two years sometimes when some people are
11:01just going to be better at it i'm not sure whether i'm one of those people or not maybe i'm just not
11:05going to be good at driving and i'm going to really need all that training i have a feeling
11:08that's not going to be the case but but we'll see all i'm saying is that some people are going
11:13to be better at it some people are going to be worse at it and it should be custom to each person
11:17so i have a tiny little story about driver's licenses yeah so many years ago when i lived
11:23in downtown when i worked downtown of course at caribou and i was in a rush i was going to therapy
11:31and i was i was late and i turned too quickly and i crunched the door of my car and i was really
11:37upset because you know there's my first car and all of that yeah and it was like i never got a
11:41fix because it's like 2500 bucks to get fixed and it was like no harm to the car in terms of like
11:46drivability but anyway i called up my insurance company and i said can can you get this fixed
11:52and they said well yeah but your premiums are going to go up and then they said wow your premiums
11:56are really high i wonder why that is so it turns out i had not completed the final written test
12:01because some new graduated license thing had come into place i'd never completed the final test of
12:06the new graduated license thing so i couldn't get better insurance rates no so me crunching my door
12:11saved me probably about 15 000 because i wouldn't have called my insurance company and found that
12:19out otherwise which is why it's really hard to know whether things in life are good or bad it's
12:23like i crunch my door oh that's terrible but it saves me 15 000 over the next you know couple of
12:28years and so yeah it it's hard to know sometimes whether things are good or bad at the moment but
12:33anyway that's just my little license story yeah next one can we get an update on your progress
12:38in baldur's gate yeah i've played through it like five times no i thought it was four five because
12:46i did one with you well we didn't finish that one together yeah we did i came back for chunks of it
12:51or you came back to help me with the end well the end and also the story you're like what
12:56yeah no it was tough for you to play with me directly because you were so astounded by my
13:01skill that okay guys i completed the game on the moderate difficulty like the middle without i did
13:07not use a single consumable aside from health potions i went no scrolls no no no other potions
13:14i think maybe once on the final boss fight i used one of the like the bombs i forget exactly what
13:19they're called but not like a magic item like one of the bombs you find places and health potions
13:24that's all i used now i didn't actually tell you this but i did it hang on i did it on super hard
13:29no you did blindfolded using only my tongue on a touch screen to move the characters around
13:34so that's gotta count for something pointless well no because i wasn't pointing i was using
13:39sorry that's okay but that i played through multiple times i just wanted to get more familiar
13:46with the rules of like dnd and also i thought like look i spent we got it on sale but i still
13:52spent like 60 bucks on that game i'm getting my my money's worth that's what i'm trying to say
13:58now so it was over the course of a year i didn't do it all in like a month but it's been over a
14:02year now that i had it and i've i played through it a few times now give me some of the variety
14:07of the ways in which forget the one with me because we've been doing that together now
14:11with the other four and that's why i was thinking of four so in the other four did you still play
14:16sort of medium difficulty yes and what were the different approaches that you took in the game
14:20i didn't really take different approaches i just uh i thought well i haven't picked this option
14:25before so i'll try that for dialogue characters but you just chose different choices right look
14:29i started out with a lot of different characters i was barbarian the first time i played through
14:35like solo i was a ranger so then i went for the next three i think or yeah three it was barbarian
14:42sorcerer and i think i was gonna do rogue but it's basically really similar to ranger i can't
14:50remember what the other one was i always drew it it was druid however my big problem was that
14:55every time i get about halfway through and be like this sucks and i'd go back to ranger hang
14:59on but why why did the other characters okay because barbarians are boring it's just hit hit
15:04hit the sorcerers well i already have so many magic users in the party that it did not make
15:10sense to double up on a magic user like gail's a wizard yeah shadow heart's an npc or sorry an npc
15:16sorry gail's a wizard shadow heart's a cleric carl or no carl acts a barbarian sorry
15:23why do i not even remember his name the buff guy with the strength
15:26lower than shadow heart has how how something is a druid basically a wizard there's that other
15:33jahira is a wizard or sorry a druid and like everyone in the party is a druid will is a
15:39warlock which is basically like a fighter druid sorcerer thing so every time i did something that
15:45wasn't a ranger or barbarian i was already doubling off on magic users barbarians as
15:52previously mentioned are boring and i have to have a starion in the party so i can't really be
15:57a theme so i had to go with ranger favorite cat favorite npcs rank for it top four why is this
16:04tough well the first one is not tough i would say a starion yeah number one the personality just
16:10outshines tell me tell me tell me what you love most about the starion the absolute morally gray
16:15aspect of everything he does he's not quite evil he's definitely not good chaotic neutral
16:21maybe a tiny bit evil chaotic neutral i'd say right yeah he's honestly just really funny
16:26character i did get the sense that he might be a big gay oh yeah fair hard to argue but like
16:35posh british not like bottle walla like posh british with good teeth yeah debatable but
16:41yeah i found this darian really funny i would say this is like everyone agrees on this but
16:47like carlike would probably be number two i'm what because she's got more personality and she's
16:53not super standoffish you just have to do basically good actions but her quest is lame bro i did not
16:59like her quest and having her meant you had to have will in the party as well kind of because
17:04not you didn't have to but he would show up because their quests are like entwined and i
17:08did not really like will i thought he was a very boring character i thought the quest stakes were
17:13too high save the multiverse it's like can we just save a town or like no it's got to be the
17:18giant in those in ballers gate yeah i mean like the character quests yeah sorry but yeah
17:23and i like the mind flayer what yeah oh the guy shows up near the end he's with you the whole
17:29game i know it's not exactly a party member although you can get him on your team at the end
17:32dream guy right emperor yeah he i thought he was a very interesting character and i wish they went
17:36more in the backstory maybe they did maybe i missed it somehow because there's a lot of choices you
17:41can start taking when you get into the actual city of balder's gate yeah but yeah i thought that
17:45was a very interesting quest all right so i think that was four that was three that's three sorry
17:50those are the top three okay very good very good yeah i can't play barbarian i mean because i keep
17:56looking at the screen and thinking the webcams on it just pointed at me got my protein playing
18:01as carla oh gosh no the the mind flayer yeah right all right so let's give us a list is there
18:07anything else you wanted to mention about this no great game one of the greatest games i've ever
18:11played it was really good yeah question question one out of 2.5 do you hide how cool you are around
18:18trashy people or do not come by them often you know here's the thing trashy people think i am
18:22really uncool because i don't do like drugs and drink at the ripe old age of 15 so yeah trashy
18:29people don't don't like me and they don't think i'm cool so i don't really have to hide anything
18:34we've certainly met a few relative contemporaries without the most ideal healthy lifestyles
18:38yeah question two out of 2.5 if you could press a button and make everyone around you as talkative
18:44as you were would you press it no no i wouldn't i think people need to be their own levels of
18:50talkative voices question 2.5 even if people were awkwardly chatty didn't make much sense
18:56oh you mean even if so you pushed you made them more chatty but they were just awkwardly chatty
19:01no oh crap sorry i dropped the recorder no i wouldn't i wouldn't press it either way
19:06awkwardly chatty being british is i mean i would choose probably an amputation of a limb
19:11than a life full of awkward chat what do you think of the clothes young girls slash women
19:1610 to 16 age range are wearing examples like crop tops and mini skirts i personally find it
19:21kind of creepy slash not so savory what percent like when you and you did your month in school
19:26what percentage of the girls all of them all of them with the exception of some of the weird kids
19:32everyone wore booty shorts crop tops like corset tops skin tie leggings and everyone it didn't
19:39matter if you had the figure four or not everyone wore it i would say i'm not really a huge fan
19:44i used to be really against it but right now honestly i couldn't care less if you want to
19:49be that type of person i'd rather you display it through your clothing than
19:52me wasting the chance to get to know you so i think it's like a marker of people you might not
19:57want to get to know right yeah yeah the one thing i like about the modern world it's like the blue
20:02head women with the nose rings and it's like you know they're just being right up front this is a
20:06dangerous frog because it's brightly colored and they're saving everyone a lot of time if they want
20:11to like if you want to take that hint you can take it very easily and not waste time like before when
20:17crazy people were more cloaked in normality you'd waste as you point out a lot of time trying to get
20:21to know people and finding out they're crazy later yeah true so that's what i mean like if you're
20:26gonna dress like that i find like you can tell so much about people by the way they dress and i will
20:32see people and i'll be like well i could be friends with you and i couldn't be friends with you based
20:36off of how they dress and honestly i think that's held to be pretty accurate with what i've judged
20:41and what i've actually noticed by many people becoming friends with them how do the theater
20:45kids dress as a whole like crap they're like they'll they have their own style but it just
20:52looks like crap like they they put effort into their outfits but it's like put effort into making
20:57them look good not making them look quirky theater kids really annoy me i'm gonna be honest and i say
21:01this i am i am in a play but not just a musical which is even worse but no i want to be like i
21:09enjoy acting i enjoy singing and stuff like that so which is why i'm in it but like theater kids
21:14they're so annoying like they think they're all that and it's like okay you know what you can act
21:17and you can sing but you're weird and no one except for theater kids wants to be your friend
21:23so you're not all that okay if you sorry if you were to design an education course doesn't have
21:30to be school related what topics would you cover and how would you structure it hunting yeah that
21:36would that would hunting would be i would i would do that i hunting would be very cool i think you
21:40need to have very practical education i would do manufacturing like how to have a class in school
21:45yeah like how to build stuff how to do stuff like clearly i'm very expert i'm clearly an expert on
21:55the topic how to build stuff that would be like a big one okay sorry i know i know this is big
22:01content related but what kind of stuff any stuff just how to build stuff doesn't all matter i would
22:06definitely do like a hunting class i would do like a gun safety and weapon safety class and
22:11how to do like self-defense yeah i feel like i would have i would do sports i've taken a few
22:17pe classes throughout my high school days or years they're all bad they don't teach you how to play
22:23the games they just like throw you into it and expect your motivational poster no not that i'm
22:29talking about the pe class or the fitness class oh sorry but they just throw you into the games
22:33and i ask like hey i don't really know how to play this and they're like they'll teach you no one
22:37does i'll ask like five kids and they'll be like yeah so basically just like run up and kick it i'm
22:42like well then what do you do after that and they'll be like we'll run to first base and i'm
22:46like okay but what determines whether i run to first base and like well if the guy catches it
22:50i'm like what guy like so it's it's annoying it is an iq and empathy test to ask someone to explain
22:56something to you oh it's it's ridiculous like yeah so i would definitely take a sports class
23:02and like here's some basic games here's how to play them let's play them that kind of thing and
23:08i would say those would be like the major ones if you're talking younger kids definitely like
23:13up until high school i would teach like english math history whatever science like all that stuff
23:21geography maybe yeah i do some geography but honestly i've not learned anything useful in
23:26high school i think there have been some decent writing assignments that i enjoy but if you don't
23:30enjoy writing then there's no point to it because i enjoy writing you probably teach yourself yeah
23:34well the only things that get taught in high school from what i've seen are like case specific
23:40like i'm learning i'm in algebra three or something i don't even know i don't remember the term of it
23:44but i'm in grade 11 math and like great you know what it's boring it's unenjoyable because i don't
23:51like math and i'm not going to take a career where i need to be doing math for a good chunk of it
23:56and even nowadays if i have to math question guess what's going to be around in 10 years to
24:01answer it ai photos and everything's sorted it was google you can already take pictures of your
24:07work and it just solves it right i don't i mean i i wouldn't know that for any reason in particular
24:12but i've heard of it i've heard yeah i've heard of it yeah i've yeah heard of it so basically high
24:18school is like the higher education that is case specific for what you want to end up doing when
24:24you're older right it's not general knowledge i think you should only get general knowledge and
24:28then any like whatever you want to do with your life you'll learn it for the fun of it or not the
24:32fun of it but for the usefulness of it like if i end up opening a restaurant i don't need to know
24:38how to dissect a frog well sorry and i know these are your answers i'll be real yeah go for it so
24:44when i was in my mid-teens i was with i was friends with a group of very smart and talented guys
24:49every single one of us knew exactly what we wanted to do after high school and yet you're
24:53not allowed to specialize i knew i wasn't going to do anything with math i knew i was going to
24:57do stuff with creativity english writing computers philosophy and that's all i ended up doing with it
25:02i knew exactly what i wanted to do every single one of my friends was like when my wife i want to
25:07be an english professor what did he become and i want to be an economics guy he became an economics
25:11guy like every single person knew exactly what they wanted to do and they weren't allowed to
25:16specialize i think crazy i genuinely i think from grade four onwards i knew 100 i am never
25:23going to have anything to do with math in my life the only thing i can think of that i may have to
25:27do with math would be like graphs and like statistics for the cafe yeah but even then
25:33that's the kind of math that you do not need four years of algebra no you do not i can understand
25:40statistics at the age of eight okay like it's not that's what i mean it's just it's a tire
25:46education for whatever you want to do case specific to your work what else what's the
25:51other question okay how would you feel when introducing for the first time your boyfriend
25:57to your dad what would be your dad's reaction i mean it's already kind of happened yeah i'm not
26:03it was very get into details but i thought it was fine it was fine yeah it not i mean
26:09it was not serious the relationship is no longer active no and so what just we won't get into
26:15details but we had a fairly lengthy drive yeah with me and the guy and you and it wasn't i don't
26:22think we weren't in a relationship at that point but it looked like it was going that way yeah
26:26but i mean it was more than just platonic right yeah yeah yeah you don't go on a date so yeah i
26:32mean i thought it was fine i enjoyed chatting with him and obviously uh he was a pretty nice guy when
26:38we were uh chatting obviously a very smart guy lots of potential so that that's kind of in the
26:43rear view and i hope you thought i was fine with him yeah you guys are you and mom are definitely
26:47good yeah so it's happened and uh i'm obviously anybody who likes his he is has a big plus next
26:54to their their name in my mind right so it was a nice nice chat yeah he was definitely a nice guy
27:00just not for me yeah and i see no more questions that we have not more questions what the literally
27:09not that serious that's the only one please name a few things that you think are literally not that
27:13serious answering this question no i'm kidding i'm kidding that's a funny question very meta
27:18i'm sorry i'm sorry that was funny but that's a good question there's so many things and usually
27:25i just say it's literally not that serious like if my mom asked me five times to put on boots and i
27:32say mom we're walking for three minutes on a sidewalk i don't need boots i will instead of
27:36saying that like i may have used to say mom it's literally not that serious so just by the by so
27:42today we went to have a visit morning tea with our neighbors yeah we went to have a morning tea with
27:50our neighbors so they they've been friends of ours for like i don't know 13 years 14 years really
27:54really nice couple yeah and i shouldn't because you know mom takes great care of us and i really
28:00really do appreciate all of that okay but like but fact is it's two minute walk not even and mom
28:05comes out with the kind of of of coat that you would put around somebody who's going to go up
28:10everest yeah i was gonna say exactly same thing like i can't fit through the door and i'm like
28:18she's like telling me like put on boots it's like it's not there's like not even an inch of snow
28:26i don't need boots i'm already wearing socks and track pants going to the neighbor's house that's
28:30when i said mom it's not that serious go come outside it's not that serious she wanted to drive
28:35over they're literally next door neighbors they're not like neighbors as in on the same street they
28:40are next to us she's like let's drive no let's not drive it's not that serious we're going to
28:46be cold for like a minute right it's not that serious that's that's something that's not that
28:51serious you think people at work take things too seriously sometimes that one co-worker
28:56yes miss ma'am i know how to work i'm sorry i know how to mop it's not that serious you do not
29:02have to explain to me in great depth how to mop i can't even understand what you're saying because
29:06your accent is so thick because you've not bothered to take proper english lessons so
29:11it's not that serious i know how to mop i'm 15 i'm almost 16 i've mopped quite a lot in my life
29:17i know how to mop it's not that serious or like when she's like here is exactly how you pour the
29:23milk to get this perfect shape it's like it's not that serious i can do a heart and the boss said
29:28that's latte art enough right it's not that serious she messes it up just as much as i do
29:34so it's like okay anyways we have a bicyclist i know those trapping us on the right you bicycling
29:40it's cold out that is that serious we found a counter example yeah or like those people who put
29:46up like 400 christmas decorations like guys it's not that serious well when you were in school
29:51were there things that other kids thought were very serious or important no no one cared no no
29:59i mean i don't know someone gets a pimple and you're like oh my god like oh no no one cared
30:03no one cared they're like literally my generation everything is not that serious if you're if you're
30:09stressing about something if you're overthinking something and you vent to someone they'll say girl
30:14it's not that serious it's not that deep you're fine it's not that deep it's just a guy it doesn't
30:20matter it's not that deep it's just it's just a boy boy problem but then of course they get to
30:25like nothing is that deep but it gets a little bit too nihilistic yeah or it's not nihilistic
30:29but a little too carefree and then you end up making stupid decisions because you're like well
30:33it's not that serious i can just try this drink right it's not that serious it's like yeah here's
30:38a handful of pills at a party but it's literally not that serious they're just some pills like
30:42that's what yeah so it can get too far right it gets too far sometimes like messing up a food
30:48order or something at work yes it is that serious that's like ten dollars worth of food wasted right
30:52but when it's like do you get the heart in the center of the cup or a little to the left it's
30:58not that serious the coffee's a coffee okay but we are technically talking about coffee okay every
31:05it has 20 grams of white shot or sorry of condensed milk it has one pump of white chocolate a shot of
31:11espresso and steamed milk it's going to come out the exact same every single time whether the heart
31:16is in the center or to the left it does not matter do you ever have this with that maybe with that
31:20worker with someone else what used to drive me nuts sometimes is people would say do you know
31:24how to do this and you'd say i'd say yes yeah and then they'd show you how to do it and it's like
31:28do you know they do that i just said yes or they'll say do you know do you know how to make this yes i
31:33know how to make this i've made it five times i'm like how and i'm like oh okay so i i explain it
31:38and like no you have to put it in this order on the bread and i'm like no like you asked me how
31:46and i listed the ingredients that go in the sandwich obviously i'm not gonna put the mayonnaise
31:51on top of the lettuce i'm gonna put it on the bread right and then she wastes both our time
31:57she has a bunch of drinks she's supposed to be making but she's gonna show me how to make the
32:00sandwich too i know how to make the sandwich which isn't even needed to be made in the moment
32:04no like the sandwich i have to wait until her drinks are done anyway so the sandwich should
32:07realistically be done when the drinks are done because in this workplace they have to come out at
32:11the same time there's a certain type of person maybe it's this type of person they want to feel
32:17smart by pretending everyone else is dumb yeah and they can be some of the most sandpaper in
32:22the eyeballs grating kind of kind of characters yeah they really are also i want to say something
32:27so the the last cafe i worked at was entirely women there was not a single man anywhere in
32:31the vicinity but this one has a decent amount of men let me tell you guys like the difference
32:36between closing with women versus closing with the guys it's crazy what i close with women we
32:43get out of there 45 minutes and i'm not talking about difference between the cafes i'm talking
32:47about this cafe specifically if i close on monday with like two other women or one other woman we're
32:55getting out half an hour to 45 minutes after close if i close with the men five minutes after
33:01i still don't know what magic they're doing i don't either i genuinely don't get it i think
33:05maybe like trusting me if if they say like or if they ask me do you know how to do this aspect of
33:11the clothing a closing has someone shown you how to do inventory and i say yes they're like great
33:15and they go off and do the rest of their thing so they assume they assume you're being honest and
33:19competent yeah and if i have a question i come to them and i'll be like i don't remember how to do
33:23it for this part or do i need to check the ones in the storage as well yeah right then they'll be
33:28like yeah you do have to do it in storage so they'll be like no you don't they don't say like
33:33they don't wander off from whatever they're doing and follow me back and say well you have
33:36to do these ones and these ones they'll just say no do it in storage and i'm like okay
33:40go to storage and do it so it's it's a lot more efficient with uh with guys interesting so it's
33:45like at the old cafe you were working in an hr department that occasionally served coffee
33:50yeah no i really was but even here the difference between the men and the women's crazy but
33:55yeah i'll just say that there have been a few studies which do not exactly argue against what
34:00it is that you're talking about guys tend to be a bit more micromanaging and with men tend to be a
34:04little bit more yeah we'll trust you to do it i'm starting to understand the pay gap
34:10and i'm starting to kind of agree with it bro no because like literally when you have the guys
34:15closing you're not wasting a full hour of pay or three quarters of an hour of pay on close or on
34:22or after close and if you're clocked in for seven hours you don't end up staying half an hour later
34:28and having to pay them an extra 10 bucks right right so i'm starting to understand why women are
34:33paid a little less well i uh i can't officially talk about any of that on the show but i'll show
34:39you some diagrams later all right valid valid that's all i have a question for real this time
34:43thank you everyone oh let's tell them what we're doing because this might be a twofer oh yeah we
34:47are two for day we are gonna go we're actually driving right now to watch the movie gladiator 2
34:54which i have already seen actually but we are i saw it with my mom but we are re-watching it and
34:59i've made you promise to replicate well no this was me actually my my idea you're gonna replicate
35:04what you said to mom right yeah so basically if we get to a certain point in the movie i'm gonna
35:07be like oh i think that guy is that guy or whatever right because but i'm not gonna say
35:12it because i already know i'm gonna say it because that's what i said to mom when i watched it the
35:16first time because it'll be like watching it again the first time and like yeah and we will do a
35:21review yes sir so which will be great i'm looking forward to it so thanks everyone for these great
35:26questions freedom.com slash donates and we'll talk to you after the movie bye
