And you thought Ric Flair was too old for this s***...

00:00Do you know what phrase I hate?
00:02That guy should retire.
00:04I mean, when you do hang them up, it's for a long-ass time.
00:07I get it's professional wrestling and everybody comes back, but still.
00:10That is why I love wrestlers who, as long as they're healthy, just keep going,
00:13because clearly they have a passion for this damn thing.
00:16Sometimes I think we need to stand up and celebrate it.
00:19Let's do that right now.
00:20Do you want to see some crazy names who are still doing the grappling?
00:23I hope so. Otherwise, why are you here?
00:25My name is Simon Miller. Please do subscribe.
00:27And here's 10 legends that are still going at it.
00:30Number 10, The Warlord.
00:32I mean, how on earth?
00:33When I first got into wrestling years and years ago,
00:35it felt like The Warlord was wrapping up.
00:37And now here we are, and he's still putting on his boots.
00:40He's also 61 years old, and during his career,
00:42was involved in not one, but two really serious car accidents.
00:46This guy must be made of steel.
00:48As far as I can see, though, he's definitely been working up to the 1st of July, 2023,
00:52because he was in a tag team match against the Rock and Roll Express.
00:56And I'll tell you right now, I actually want to see it.
00:58Now, of course, they only did a five-minute scrap,
01:00but I'm nowhere near how old these guys are,
01:03and sometimes I can't even get out of bed.
01:05Round of applause.
01:06Just for some extra fun trivia as well,
01:08at one point during his life, The Warlord was a bodyguard for 50 Cent.
01:12So now you know.
01:13Number 9, The Barbarian.
01:15And yes, of course, we do also need to talk about his tag team partner,
01:17which was The Barbarian,
01:19which means 35 years later, power and pain are still going.
01:23Barb is even older at 64,
01:25and I tell you, this guy always used to be lumped in with the whole,
01:28man, he's just a big old potato kind of a wrestler.
01:31It's not true.
01:32If you go back and watch some of his matches,
01:34given that he was massive, this dude could go.
01:37Go and watch the match against the Rockers at WrestleMania 7,
01:39and all of a sudden you'll start to notice,
01:41oh my gosh, a lot of the power guys in 2023,
01:45where they're basing their template on his.
01:47He did this in WCW as well,
01:49although World Championship Wrestling never knew what to do with anybody.
01:52And if we go back to May 2023,
01:54these two guys also had a match against the Headbangers.
01:58That's two for two.
02:00I got to watch it.
02:01Number 8, Ultimo Dragon.
02:02Now this isn't a huge surprise,
02:04because if anybody is going to rewrite the wrestling rule book,
02:06it'd be this guy.
02:07Ultimo Dragon was so successful in his pop,
02:09he basically started the whole belt collector gimmick.
02:12And the only reason he didn't smash it in WWE or the WWF
02:15is because Vince McMahon was like,
02:17well, he's just a cruiserweight,
02:18and old Vinny doesn't like small dudes.
02:20The real joy is that at 54 years old,
02:22he still totally knows what he's doing.
02:24And while a lot of his matches do go down in Dragon Gate,
02:27and they're six-man tags,
02:28when he does get his hand slapped,
02:30he just does what he needs to do,
02:32and he's still pretty impressive.
02:34His chain wrestling is also sublime,
02:36and honestly, if he's still going at 89 years old,
02:38I'd be like, yeah, of course he is.
02:40He's probably never going to retire.
02:42Number 7, Duke the Dunstan Drozy.
02:44So let's just talk about it, because we can.
02:46In the mid-90s, Vince McMahon decided,
02:48well, I know how to turn business around, pal.
02:50Let's give everybody a job.
02:52If somebody was always going to be the garbage man,
02:55it was Duke Drozy.
02:57And look, there's nothing wrong with doing that either,
02:59in real life, but when it comes to wrestling,
03:01how the flub is this going to help you win a belt?
03:04And also, you ain't never made of it in WrestleMania.
03:06The irony today is that I actually think
03:08if you put this gimmick in the newfound NXT,
03:10it would work, but yeah,
03:12back when the World Wrestling Federation
03:14needed something new, this weren't it.
03:16It didn't stop Drozy, though, because at 54 years of age,
03:19he did pop up in that gimmick battle royal
03:21that MLW did recently, which also had Raven,
03:24Harry Smith, and Little Guido.
03:26So I know, you're now doing it too.
03:28Somebody give me the remote control.
03:30Number 7, Scott Steiner.
03:32I mean, are you going to tell him to stop?
03:34Nope, neither am I.
03:35Now it is a worry, because mathematical odds
03:37keep going down all over the place,
03:39but despite the fact he has suffered some serious injuries,
03:41Big Papa Pump is still going.
03:43And we've all seen that TNA viral clip
03:45that is always popping up online,
03:47but Steiner did give Scottier old resurgence
03:49when it came to his matches,
03:51because in 2019, that led to quite a ridiculous one
03:54against Hornswoggle.
03:55As recent as this April, though,
03:57he worked Richard Cordier,
03:59mostly because it was in Michigan,
04:01and I think Steiner could just walk there from his house.
04:03I really don't think that the Big Booty Daddy
04:05has ever said that he does want to hang them up either.
04:07He probably just rings up promoters and goes,
04:10book me!
04:11They go, man, we better do it.
04:13But yeah, he'll go on forever.
04:14Number 5, Gangrel.
04:15Seriously, Gangrel's schedule is amazing.
04:17Like, he's over here in the UK all the time.
04:20I don't know how he does it.
04:22At 54, he is still flying as well,
04:24and man, did he make the most of this vampire gimmick.
04:27And don't forget, when he was in the World Wrestling Federation,
04:29this is another guy Vince was like,
04:31vampire gimmick, I don't get it.
04:33Well, yeah, it certainly served him for the long haul.
04:35He is also a super nice guy,
04:37and if you have seen him working on the UK scene,
04:39or the Canadian scene, or the US scene,
04:41he still knows exactly what he's doing.
04:43He draws a crowd, and he gets a big old pop.
04:46He really is a genius when it comes to sports entertainment,
04:49especially knowing that less is more.
04:51They don't give him enough props.
04:53Number 4, Hikushi.
04:54Now, if you are a hardcore fan,
04:56you probably remember Hikushi's bizarre WWF run,
04:59when all of a sudden you woke up one day,
05:01and we put Bret Hart against the man,
05:03and all of a sudden you were like,
05:05well, this was what I was waiting for.
05:06They had some really good matches.
05:08I mean, it proved that the guy from Japan wasn't just an orso rant.
05:11Seriously.
05:12If you watch them now, you can see it.
05:14Both he and Bret are from the,
05:15we gotta make it look real, school of thought.
05:18That's what makes him so damn watchable.
05:20Real life Ginzaishin Zaki continues to wrestle
05:22at Mishinoko Pro 2,
05:24mostly because he bought the thing in 2003.
05:27So why wouldn't you book yourself on it?
05:29Thing is, though, he knows how to hold his own,
05:31because he was one of the guys that faced the Great Muta
05:33when he was doing his retirement run.
05:35Look, believe you me, those dudes were specifically picked.
05:39The man still got it.
05:40Number 3, Shane Douglas.
05:41Now, Shane Douglas had two very famous moments
05:44in his wrestling career.
05:45The first is when he won the NWA world title
05:47and threw it on the floor
05:48and disrespected it at an ECW show.
05:51And the other is when he got hired by WWF
05:55and they made him a teacher.
05:57I mean, come on.
05:58WCW didn't do much with him either,
05:59and we've touched on that,
06:00meaning it was Extreme Championship Wrestling
06:02where he finally got his due.
06:04Really?
06:05This is a guy that's always been underrated
06:07and deserved a bigger push.
06:08He's been so smart in his style as well
06:10that by July 2023,
06:12he had already worked seven matches this year.
06:14And the majority were pretty solid.
06:16That's because Shane can work, Shane can talk,
06:18and nowadays, he never does anything too crazy.
06:21So you may be able to argue
06:22that he just got tied up with the wrong people
06:24or butted head with the wrong individuals.
06:26So could he have one last run at the top?
06:29Never say never.
06:30Number 2, The Sandman.
06:32The Sandman actually came out recently during an interview
06:34because he was asked,
06:35do you think you'll ever go to AEW?
06:37I don't know anyone from AEW.
06:39I am so out of the wrestling bubble.
06:41It is crazy.
06:42And yet, because his gimmick was just,
06:43I'm going to walk to the ring,
06:44I'm going to drink a beer,
06:45and I'm going to smack myself in the head
06:47with a kendo stick.
06:48Well, he's still able to do it today.
06:50I mean, back in April, at the age of 60,
06:52he worked DILF.
06:53I didn't really know who DILF was,
06:55so I looked him up.
06:56Apparently, he's an internet meme wrestler.
06:59I don't really know what that means.
07:00As usual, though, the whole story was
07:02that DILF said bad things about ECW,
07:04so out came The Sandman and whipped his ass.
07:06And you go and read his story
07:08and all the trials and tribulations he went through.
07:10Kind of sounds like he's doing really well now.
07:13Makes me warm and fuzzy in my tum-tum.
07:15Number one, Bob Orton.
07:17That's right!
07:18Ratley Orton's dead.
07:19He's still going.
07:20Probably still has his arm in the cast.
07:22Gimmick for life.
07:23But if we go to July 2023,
07:25who was having a match at the age of 71?
07:27Bob Orton.
07:28I mean, he teamed with Tony Atlas
07:30for a match in Southern Illinois Championship Wrestling,
07:32and given that we have talked about Big Tone,
07:35he should be in here too.
07:36He's 69.
07:37Don't do it.
07:38Orton as well was bumping around the place,
07:40so you have to give that guy kudos.
07:43He is definitely somebody's grandad.
07:46Once again, I ain't nobody's grandad.
07:48I can barely go to the bathroom.
07:50So whatever pain he's probably still in,
07:52he is still able to smash it.
07:54I think this is really damn cool.
07:56Take inspiration from this, people.
07:58If you love something, you have a passion.
08:00Never give it up, unless it's good for your life
08:02and it's good for your health.
08:03Believe in your dreams.
08:05See you soon.
