00:24:15It was a starved state for vampires, a mode that allowed them to grow stronger to consume
00:24:21blood, but also acted as a double-edged sword.
00:24:23However, slowly one of them was starting to get an edge, and it looked like it was the
00:24:28bloodsucker.
00:24:29Quinn planned to inch closer and closer and try to get behind the king-tier beast.
00:24:34Running forward and around the two, he wanted to get behind the fight.
00:24:37As he took a step to the side, suddenly a large claw-like fist came out towards him.
00:24:43The fist was briefly stopped by the shadow, and when he looked at where it had come from,
00:24:47it was from the bloodsucker.
00:24:49He could sense where I was even with the shadow cloak on?

00:25:54motion of the hammer strike, timing everything perfectly when the bloodsucker jumped.
00:25:59Just when it was about to land, Quinn performed a flash step.
00:26:03Avoiding the attack, he appeared in front of the king-tier beast.

00:26:07The beast was already weak, and using all the strength he could, he snapped back his

00:28:20to them for a while, Layla quickly figured out that he wasn't the leader.

00:29:17Andre, the leader of the group, had a beast by his side and he could very well control
00:29:21it, which meant that he belonged to the Brie family.
00:29:25Depending on their level and control of the ability, it allowed them to tame higher and
00:29:29lower level beasts.
00:29:30The Brie's were incredibly talented when it came to fighting, but while taming a stronger
00:29:35beast, one would have to show it was stronger than what it was trying to tame.
00:29:39With their incredible fighting skills and strong beasts, they were able to work together,
00:29:44creating a powerful force, and eventually climbed up the ladder to be a part of the
00:29:48Big Four.
00:29:49Trying to think quickly on his feet, Quinn took out the flask.
00:29:53However, even before Quinn was able to do that, a strange lion-like beast had jumped
00:29:58in between Vorden and the bloodsucker.
00:30:00As it pounced towards the bloodsucker, the flames on its tails grew brighter.
00:30:05The two of them clashed in the center, claw against paw, and surprisingly, it was outpowered
00:30:11and pushed back.

00:30:15The young man Andre held out his spear and stood by his lion's side.
00:30:19The two bald twins had appeared, one by Vorden's side and the other by Peter's side.
00:30:24You guys did well to survive against such a thing, one of them said, but you can now
00:30:28leave it to us, the other said, ending the first one's sentence.
00:30:32The twins were insistent, and before they could even reply, they were already trying
00:30:36to pull both Vorden and Peter out of the fighting area.

00:31:26As the group turned to look at the speaker, all they could see was a human figure dressed
00:31:30in a black suit, wearing a demon mask that was covering its bottom jaw, while its eyes
00:31:35were white and shaped like a demon.
00:31:38During the fight with the king-tier beast, he hadn't done this because they needed Fex
00:31:42in his bloodsucker form.
00:31:44What he didn't expect to happen was that the small group of travelers would be able
00:31:48to overpower the bloodsucker.
00:31:50After seeing him get stabbed in the ribs and howling in pain, Quinn had enough.
00:31:55Before jumping in to help Fex, Quinn had made the quick decision to put all of his points
00:32:00into the charm stat.
00:32:0122 charm points.
00:32:04This unlocked the next tier in his charm, and Quinn could tell that it would be different
00:32:08when he used it next.
00:32:09With no time to lose, Quinn needed to reveal himself from the shadows, targeting his blood
00:32:14swipe at the leader, Andre.
00:32:16"'Why did you attack me?
00:32:17We're trying to get rid of this beast,' Andre said, annoyed at the strange figure.
00:32:22Looking at Andre's fight against Fex, Quinn could tell he was strong.
00:32:26With the little HP he currently had, on top of no longer having any MC points to use his
00:32:31shadow ability, Quinn didn't want to do anything stupid like confront Andre and Andy.
00:32:36He quickly popped the lid of the flask, and straight away, he was able to smell the sweet
00:32:40aroma of blood coming from it.

00:32:45And just like that, Fex turned his head, catching the same smell as Quinn.
00:32:49Now, this was the hard part.
00:32:52Immediately Quinn started to run off in the direction of the tower, and Fex chased after
00:32:56him.
00:32:57Both of them ran down the street into the darkness.
00:33:00Both of them were now invisible, since they were no longer in the sticky lights that Logan
00:33:04had shot on the street.
00:33:06Quinn started running at full speed, activating his windwalk boots, but he knew it would be
00:33:11useless with the great speed of the bloodsucker.
00:33:14The only thing he could do was run into buildings, to slow Fex down.
00:33:18In one of the abandoned buildings, there was an empty large room.
00:33:22He quickly placed the flask on the floor and ran aside.
00:33:25He was still unsure if Fex would continue chasing after him, or go after the flask.
00:33:30When Fex reached the flask on the floor, he immediately picked it up, using its clawed
00:33:35hands.
00:33:36He shook the flask and poured the contents into his mouth, without allowing a drop of
00:33:40it to touch the floor.

00:33:44While Fex was busy going back to his regular self, Quinn looked out the window and at the

00:33:49''I wonder what's in there?''
00:33:50''Who was that guy?'' one of the twins said as he accepted Andre's hand to stand up from

00:34:13I haven't seen that ability before, either,'' Andre replied.

00:34:24The three of them prodded along, and when their eyes made contact with what Andy was

00:44:04He was slowly following the group of students, along with the travelers, to see where they

00:44:14''Until we get outside, I might be able to do something by then,'' Peter immediately
00:44:18looked up at Logan from his position.
00:44:20His eyes were starting to show a slight tint of red in them.
00:44:24''Okay, looks like you won't last that long.''
00:44:26Finally, the group had reached one of the tunnels that led out of the city.
00:44:31While walking through the tunnels, Logan had come up with an idea.
00:44:34''So, with all these tunnels, how do you guys know the way out?
00:44:38These tunnels are like a maze, and they either seem to loop with each other or all end up
00:44:42going back to the original town we just left from.
00:44:44In the end, we never found an exit, so we decided to create our own.
00:44:48In one of the tunnels, we marked ourselves.''
00:44:51Logan had scanned the place before coming down, so he knew there was a space between
00:44:55the surface and the ground they were currently on and was prepared for it.
00:44:59It was a sad thought, but some of the other students were consumed by the strange, plant-like
00:45:04beast.
00:45:05All Logan needed to do was to make them split up with the others and search through the
00:45:09tunnels for one of these dead students that Peter could feed on.
00:45:13Finally, the group exited the tunnel and entered another larger section with several more tunnels.
00:45:19The second they entered the room, though, Peter loudly screamed as if he was in pain.
00:45:24It seemed too sudden.
00:45:25By Logan's predictions, they should have had more time.
00:45:28Looking around the room, though, he soon spotted the cause.
00:45:32His theory was right.
00:45:34Substudents had fallen to their deaths after being consumed by the plant because there
00:45:38were a couple of students in front of them.
00:45:40The smell and sight of the students had caused a reaction inside him.
00:45:44Not knowing what to do, Logan rushed towards Peter with his suit still on and picked him
00:45:48up from the ground.
00:45:50Peter remained motionless in the same position, not even moving his hands.
00:45:54He just kept groaning.
00:45:56By now, he was using every bit of energy and was concentrating on not lashing out and going
00:46:01toward the students.
00:46:03But even more so, he didn't want to bite his friend Logan, who was carrying him right now.
00:46:08Logan kept running with Peter on his shoulder, picking a tunnel at random.

00:46:57The group continued to walk through the tunnels while also instructing the students to look
00:47:02away from the dead bodies.

00:48:22First, a vampire tomb doesn't necessarily mean a vampire is dead.
00:48:26A vampire can choose to go into eternal slumber, which is similar to death, but not the same.
00:48:32Eternal slumber means a vampire has chosen to go to sleep forever themselves.
00:48:37It's a permanent state, and there is only one way to be woken up from it, by consuming
00:48:42the blood of someone of the same family.
00:48:45My guess is two things.
00:48:46Either the vampire was a powerful one, and his magic was so great he was able to convince
00:48:51the king-tier beast to act as a guard.
00:48:54To keep it under its control for so long, it handed the blood crystal which you obtained
00:48:59after defeating the beast.
00:49:01My second guess would be that after the beast found the blood crystal, it was compelled
00:49:05to this area.
00:49:07Something was telling it that there was something powerful inside, and it didn't know how to
00:49:11use it.
00:49:12At the same time, it couldn't leave this place due to its curiosity of power.
00:49:18Excited by this prospect, he started to jog after Fex, who had gone quite a way ahead.
00:49:24After they both followed the torches down the path, it eventually led them to a large
00:49:28staircase leading upward.
00:49:30The two of them powered through the many stairs and didn't feel very tired.

00:50:04It was a fairly large square room, but at the same time it was completely bare.
00:50:09There was nothing inside the room apart from five podiums in the center of the room.
00:50:14Each podium had an item on it.
00:50:16They were pieces of armor, a chest piece, a leg piece, an arm piece, and a helmet.
00:50:21Lastly, on the final podium was a ring.
00:50:24"'This is ancient old vampire combat armor.
00:50:27Maybe you can wear this,' Fex said as he picked up the ring of the podium.
00:50:32In an instant, the room felt like it was starting to shake.

00:50:37A strange circular cylinder-like shape lifted from the podium and covered each of the items.
00:50:43The cylinder went all the way up to the ceiling of the room they were in.
00:50:47Once the cylinders were formed, the vibration stopped, and it didn't seem like anything
00:50:51else was going to happen.
00:50:54Seeing what had happened, Quinn could only assume the other items were locked away once
00:50:58Fex had picked up the ring.
00:51:00Perhaps the same thing would have happened after touching any of the items.
00:51:04Maybe the vampire who slept here was giving them a choice.
00:51:07A reward for discovering the place, but rather than give them everything, he gifted them
00:51:12a single piece of his treasure.
00:51:14"'Here,' Fex said as he threw the ring over to Quinn.
00:51:18He caught the ring in the air and took a look at it.
00:51:20"'Inspect.
00:51:21A king-tier blocking ring.
00:51:23When used on a vampire, it will completely block the effects of sunlight, as long as
00:51:28the ring is worn.'
00:51:29With this ring, the one weakness Quinn possessed had disappeared.
00:51:33A huge smile went over his face as he quickly placed the ring on.
00:51:38When Logan turned back to look down the tunnel from where they came from, he had saw that
00:51:42no one had followed them.
00:51:43Even with Peter on his shoulder, he never slowed down.
00:51:46He kept running down the tunnel until they eventually reached an open space that had
00:51:50a lot of different paths and tunnels for them to choose from.
00:51:54It was similar to one of the areas where they had just come from.
00:51:57"'Let go of me!' Peter shouted, with his eyes now fully red and glowing in the dark.
00:52:03Logan felt the weight on his shoulder was about to shift.
00:52:06He could tell that something was up and immediately threw Peter off his shoulder, slamming him
00:52:11onto the ground.
00:52:12Peter lifted his head and got a glimpse of Logan, who now had his blaster pointed toward
00:52:16him.
00:52:17"'You're still in there, right, Peter?' said Logan.
00:52:20But Peter suddenly started to seize, his body furiously shook as he thrashed around on the
00:52:25floor.
00:52:27Seeking for some kind of solution, Logan picked out and held out his altered-hand scanner.
00:52:32If it just worked, then he would be able to scan the tunnels and find out where the other
00:52:36deceased students were located.
00:52:38Instead of walking through blindly and playing their chances, they would at least have some
00:52:42benchmark as to where they should go.
00:52:45But for some reason, ever since coming down underground, the scanner was useless.
00:52:49"'Why won't you work?' Logan said, and Peter was now standing in front of him with his
00:52:54head facing down towards the ground.
00:52:57It was unknown whether he had recovered his sanity or if he had already been taken over
00:53:02by his hunger and primal urges.
00:53:05After Quinn and Fex realized that there was nothing the two of them could do to retrieve
00:53:09their items, they decided to leave the room.
00:53:12On the final platform, there was another large, arch-shaped double door like the one before.
00:53:17It also had no lock, and all the two needed to do was push it open with their two hands.
00:53:23Just like every room they had entered before, the lights started to light up one by one,
00:53:27revealing what the room looked like.
00:53:29From the door to the center room was a large red carpet.
00:53:33It reached the center, where there was a very large circle on the ground.
00:53:37Past this was a red carpet on the other end of the circle, which continued forward until
00:53:42it eventually reached a large chair.
00:53:45Looking at the large chair, or throne, it looked like only a person of significance
00:53:50would be allowed to sit in such a place.
00:53:53That was when Quinn spotted something while looking at the throne, but just behind the
00:53:57chair, a little bit above, it looked like a clear glass pane, and inside was a large
00:54:02sword-like weapon.
00:54:04The sword didn't look regular, even though it was locked away behind a glass casing.
00:54:08It seemed to have several black chains wrapped around it, from the hilt up to the tip of
00:54:13the blade.
00:54:14While looking at the blade closer, he could tell it was a beast blade rather than just
00:54:18a regular sword.
00:54:20The handguard seemed to be quite scaly and rocky.
00:54:23It was red and had a pattern that matched the armor they had seen earlier.
00:54:27Between the handguard and the bladed part was a red gem.
00:54:30It looked very similar to the crystal that Quinn had obtained after defeating the King
00:54:34Tyr beast.
00:54:36From the crystal inside the sword, a single red line ran up the blade until the tip, placing
00:54:41his clawed gauntlet fingertips on the glass pane covering it.
00:54:45He started to use all his strength, hoping to make a scratch or an indentation.
00:54:50Just like with all of the materials they had discovered before in the tower, it was almost
00:54:54unbreakable for him.
00:54:56He took a step back, and once again, the room seemed to slightly vibrate.
00:55:01In front of the sword, a podium started to rise.
00:55:05The vibration stopped in the room, and so did the podium.
00:55:08On top, there was a diamond-shaped hole.
00:55:11As he gently ran his fingers over the top of the podium, another message appeared.
00:55:15Would you like to insert your blood crystal?
00:55:18Once inserted, the blood crystal may not be removed.
00:55:21Yes?
00:55:22No?
00:55:23What exactly can a blood crystal be used for?
00:55:25Quinn asked the system in his head.
00:55:27The system said,
00:55:28The blood crystal can be used as a beast crystal.
00:55:31They are used to either create armor or weapons.
00:55:34The unique thing about a blood weapon is that it can evolve and grow stronger.
00:55:38However, depending on the crystal used, there is a limit to its growth and also its starting
00:55:43point.
00:55:44What you have right now in your hand is the lowest tier of blood crystals.
00:55:48He looked at the weapon behind the glass case once again, and it was like nothing he had

00:56:33Using one of his hands, he picked up the scanner and immediately turned it on.
00:56:37For some reason, the scanner was online.
00:56:40After quickly scanning the tunnels around them, Logan found what he was looking for.
00:56:44In one of the tunnels to his right, not too far from here, were the bodies of some students
00:56:49who had met an unfortunate end after falling from above.
00:56:52Yes, Peter, I think I can solve your problem.
00:56:56In Logan's excitement, he had placed both eyes on the scan only for a brief second.
00:57:01When he looked up, Peter was no longer standing where he was directly in front of him.
00:57:06Back in the strange tower, Quinn realized what was the change he was feeling.
00:57:10After inserting the blood crystal into the podium, it seemed like whatever was blocking
00:57:14out his senses before was no longer there.
00:57:18He could now clearly sense Peter.
00:57:20With this, shock had entered his heart.
00:57:23Sensing Peter now, he could feel a mix of emotions and feelings rush over his mind and

00:57:35A process had begun when the blood crystal was inserted into the podium and went back
