00:00You've gone through a lot this year, had a big surgery, but to hear you're cancer free,
00:12what's this whole year been like?
00:13Because you haven't really said much about it until recently.
00:16I've been quiet man, even the social media post was kind of a non-speaking thing because
00:21I'm still in the midst of finishing out that journey in life.
00:26So literally, diagnosed with prostate cancer earlier this year, researched, did all the
00:33stuff that comes along with that, determined to have the full prostatectomy surgery, so
00:37I had my prostate removed about six weeks ago.
00:41And how does your body feel right now?
00:42I feel great man, I had great doctors, early detection.
00:46So for me, doing everything early, getting checked every year, super super important.
00:51Two weeks later I was performing with Usher in Anaheim.
00:55You want to catch it before it catches you, right?
00:58And so I'm promoting, I guess I'm shooting a documentary right now on early detection
01:04and I'm talking with lots of people, I'm connected to a world of people right now that are quietly
01:10navigating cancer journeys of their own and early detection is the thing that literally
01:16saved my life.
01:17With these other people going through this cancer journey, have you taken anyone under
01:21your pastor wing?
01:23I am pastoring different people right now.
01:26Pastoring is loving people, basically.
01:27But like, do you also have it?
01:28Yes.
01:29Yes, I have.
01:30Wow.
01:31That's amazing.
01:32And because it's a, the way I think about it is we're all in the same storm, but we're
01:38on different boats.
01:39That's right.
01:40Right?
01:41And so a lot of the people that are navigating their own cancer stories, they're all in their
01:43own boats and they don't want anybody to necessarily know what they're navigating through.
01:47And so as a pastor, I'm confident to be able to keep their confidence and we walk through
01:51it together.
01:52I'm a blessed man though, man.
01:53I'm a blessed man.
01:54So I'm a, I'm a, I'm a live well, I'm a love well, and hopefully if I can pass it on to
01:59somebody else, you know, early detection, it's a big deal, early detection.
02:02Yeah.
02:03And get that check, like get checked.
02:04Like it's not, it's not like, it's not like people are so, you know, they make these taboos
02:09like, you know, Oh, don't, I don't want no one checking this or that, you know, my stuff,
02:12you know?
02:13Yeah.
02:14But it's real.
02:15It is real.
02:16You will either get checked or you're going to get checked.
02:17That's right.
02:18It's going to happen either way.
02:20You can be in control of it.
