WOULD YOU take a ride in this funky 1997 Ford Ranger standing at just 37.5 inches tall? According to its owner Brandon, from Orange City, Florida, this rusty lowrider is not afraid to get down and dirty. Since Brandon started building the truck in 2011, it has had nine engines, which have blown up from doing burnout contests. Brandon said: "I don’t mind if it gets scratched, I don’t mind if kids touch it, I don’t mind if kids climb on it. It was made to have fun." Powder-coated white with a wood roof, the motor is the true definition of a modern rat rod. It is equipped with a 15.5-gallon gas tank that used to be an old Anheuser-Busch beer keg. It also has a 17-inch 1966 AMC Rambler steering wheel and a Unity cop light from the ‘60s. The truck's unique appearance might not be everyone's cup of tea, but to Brandon, it is his way of expressing freedom and creativity. He added: "I like to stand out and show the world that you don’t need to blend in with everyday society."

00:00This truck has had nine engines in it.
00:02All nine of them have blown up from doing burnout contests.
00:05We wanted it to stand out a little bit.
00:07I built it with a few buddies and bare hands,
00:10a lot of sweat, blood, and tears.
00:12It started out as a stock truck,
00:13and from there we bagged it.
00:15We body dropped it,
00:16which would be putting the body on the ground.
00:18And after that, we drove it for a year
00:21and we decided it needed to be lower.
00:23The truck stands at 37 and a half inches tall,
00:26and I'm claiming lowest in the state of Florida.
00:28There's no speedometer in the truck.
00:30There's oil pressure, RPM, and engine temp.
00:33Those are the only things you need for a good burnout.
00:35The exhaust, we put a flapper on it
00:37to keep the frogs out at night.
00:40That stinks when the frog burns up in the exhaust.
00:42You don't want that.
00:43I like to stand out and show the world
00:46that you don't need to blend in with everyday society.
00:48This truck means freedom and a way to express myself
00:51and a way to get my ideas and my skills out there
00:55for the world to see.
00:56I would say that we leave the competition
00:57in the cloud of sparks.
