00:00The Department of Trade and Industry, or DTI, is no longer able to see that the prices of Noche Buena items are still rising before the end of the year.

00:08Details on this were reported by Isaiah Mirafuentes of PPV Manila.

00:14The prices of Noche Buena grocery items are still not rising until the end of 2024.

00:21This is what the Department of Trade and Industry said earlier in their inspection in Guadalupe Public Market with the Department of Agriculture.

00:29It is estimated that some of the Noche Buena items increased by less than 5%,

00:35particularly the macaroni pasta and sandwich spread, due to the holiday season.

00:40But some of the items did not move, depending on the brand of the Noche Buena items.

00:45We have controlled the prices, but not for all the products.

00:49Of course, we also talked to the manufacturers and the brand owners if they can actually just leave the prices the same as last year.

00:59DTI also urged the buyers to buy bundles or wholesale for a lower price.

01:05If the prices of Noche Buena grocery items did not increase,

01:10some buyers are getting angry because of the increase in the prices of the main products in the market.

01:17Just like Rowena, who is a single mother and has three children.

01:21She admitted that it was difficult for her to manage her daily budget for the market.

01:28I said, I will just manage the 200, because we are the only four in the house.

01:40This Christmas, the belts must be fastened because most of the main products have increased prices.

01:47The price of chicken was increased by 20 pesos.

01:51The previous 200 pesos is now 220 pesos.

01:55Even the pork has increased by 10 pesos.

01:58And it is expected to increase this week and in the next few days,

02:03where the price will fluctuate from 300 pesos to 390 pesos.

02:09The important thing is, for example, if we have vegetables,

02:13you should give a good price so that you can come back.

02:16And vegetables and fish also fluctuate in price.

02:19Most of the products that have increased prices are vegetables from Baguio.

02:23We talked to the vendors and they said that the demand has really increased.

02:30As we all know, we have a problem with ESF.

02:35In Pabuy, it is really expected to increase.

02:38But in spite of the high price,

02:40the price of well-milled rice is still 40 pesos higher than the price in Metro Manila.

02:47This is lower than the 42 to 62 pesos price of a kilo of rice.

02:54The 40 pesos rice is still part of the government's rice for all program.
