00:00I think actually we're in a crisis situation with violence against women and it has gone on
00:07with so much stigma and so much shame. We need to really bring this out into the open
00:13and I'm so proud of Giselle because she has taken a victim circumstance, a place where she
00:22would be taken to be at blame in some way because very often women who are victimised by men
00:31are gaslit and told that it's actually their fault. Each case obviously is individual
00:39to themselves but in this case this is so extreme and I think to take up the stance of being a
00:48spokesperson against violence against women is such a brave and courageous thing to do and I
00:54think maybe that will inspire women to actually come out of the closet, come out of the dark
01:02shadows and realise yes, I can speak for myself, that I have a right, I don't deserve in my life
01:10to be treated in a subhuman way but I'm hoping that eventually we can actually succeed in making
01:17transformative change, changing the minds and practices of young men and young women too.
01:24We need to protect ourselves, we need to know our rights so I'm very excited that
01:29new generation of women are really seeing their rights but the work needs to be done in my case,
01:35from my perspective, the work needs to be done with young men and urgently so. It's an urgent situation.
