00:00Heavy traffic is what some motorists and commuters are experiencing in some parts of Metro Manila.

00:05Because it's the last weekend before Christmas, many people are rushing to do Christmas shopping.

00:26From Himpapawid, this is what EDSA Northbound looks like tonight.

00:32It's very red because of the long line of vehicles that are rushing.

00:39It's almost from Makati to North EDSA in Quezon City.

00:44Even though there's an Ortigas flyover, there's also traffic going towards Pasig and Antipolo.

00:50The reason, according to MMDA, is the simultaneous volume of vehicles coming from workplaces and malls.

00:57In EDSA, for example, the small road that comes from Ortigas to EDSA is blocked.

01:02You can see in this drone video how there's a choke point in these areas.

01:07The result is that the wide EDSA is narrowing because of the high number of vehicles.

01:13The security guards of the malls are even stopping the line of vehicles in EDSA

01:19so that the vehicles of their parochial families can get out.

01:23In Guadalupe, it's just yesterday and the vehicles in the Northbound lane are heavy and almost non-moving.

01:30Even motorcycles are not able to pass the heavy traffic of the vehicles.

01:35According to MMDA, they are not stopping the security guards of the malls to help with the traffic,

01:40but the line of vehicles in EDSA should still be a priority.

01:48The heavy traffic is a calamity for everyone.

01:51A taxi driver I talked to said that if there are no passengers,

01:54he will choose to pull over instead of wasting gasoline in EDSA.
