Kelli O’Hara Teases Season 3 of ‘The Gilded Age’

00:00I'm a big memoir reader, that's amazing that you've asked that, and now my mind is reeling

00:07because right now I'm deeply in the middle of Sally Field's masterpiece of a memoir,

00:13and it sort of makes me now want to play that in some very dramatic way.

00:18I don't know if it would be musicalized, but the stories of most of the actresses that

00:23really thrill me and that have emotionally exploded me have to do with some really hard

00:29living, and I mean even Julie Andrews had a harrowing childhood, so these are all really

00:34interesting memoirs to read, but that's a great question.

00:36What can I tease without being sued?

00:40You're going to see some of the same players, you're going to also see some fantastic new

00:43guest artists on.

00:47You know, my storyline, I should say, changes a lot, so that's pretty exciting for me, so

00:52we'll see what everybody thinks about it.

00:54Ooh, last season I got to interact with Oscar Wilde, which is pretty fantastic.

00:58Ooh, let's see, more of that, more of that, people that were kind of groundbreaking at

01:04the time.

01:05I wish that, Aurora Fane always likes to just skirt on the edge, so I think that more of

01:09like Oscar Wilde types.

01:12You know, one of the things that really pissed me off, excuse my language, was that they

01:16would have these opulent six hour dinner parties that went from 9pm to 3 in the morning or

01:22whatever it was, and with 22 courses of crazy food brought in from Europe and the islands,

01:30but the women weren't expected to eat a thing.

01:32Woo, that makes me, that chaps my hide.

01:36You know, I have some self-talk that's pretty fascinating, there are some curse words for

01:41sure in that self-talk.

01:44One of them is shut the F up, and I'm talking to myself, when any sort of negative self-talk

01:48comes in, I like to say things like, I know what I'm doing, I'm in charge, not you.

01:55And you know what, sometimes it really works, you just sort of have to tell yourself, I've

01:59done my work, I deserve to be here, and I'm going to walk away being proud and shut the

02:04F up, and somehow it sometimes works.
