00:00Let's get into it.
00:03You got some good stuff here with regards to rookie quarterbacks.
00:07You got some stuff going on with Lamar Jackson, some head coaching stats.
00:11What do we have?
00:12Let's go by the numbers.
00:13Well, we're going to start with Jaden Daniels, and if you dial back to August when we were
00:17doing our preview shows, we talked about Jaden Daniels as rookie of the year.
00:21It was plus 600 plus 650 in a lot of markets.
00:24That's where we liked it.
00:25Caleb Williams at the very top.
00:27We saw Marvin Harrison Jr. in between, and it's still Jaden Daniels to lose at this point.
00:32So we've been pretty good pillar to post on that one, and it's had a great season here
00:37for Jaden Daniels, and he looks like he's healthy again, finally, these last few weeks.
00:41I think there was some question there with that ribcage injury, how healthy he was.
00:44But if you look at the last three weeks, he's finished as QB1, QB2, QB7 over the last three
00:50weeks coming off the bye last week.
00:52A little bit of struggle, Boston Times against New Orleans, but I think that's because they
00:55absolutely have their eyes set on Philadelphia today.
00:57They know how important this game is.
00:58This game is a measuring stick now to see how good are we and how good do we have to
01:03get to beat the Eagles next year?
01:05Because I don't think the Giants are going to be competitive next year all of a sudden,
01:09and they look like a team that's going to be changing over a lot of things, and the
01:13Cowboys could be a team also changing over a lot of things.
01:16So the Washington Commanders are in a good spot here, and the Eagles are definitely that
01:20big brother right now, at least for the time being.
01:22But how good has he been?
01:23Well, let's take a look at the numbers.
01:25If you look at rookie QBs with 3,000 passing yards in their rookie season and 500 rushing
01:30yards, it's a short list.
01:31It's all guys from the last 20 years.
01:33It's Jaden Daniels.
01:35It's Cam Newton.
01:36It's Robert Griffin III and Kyler Murray.
01:38So often when you have Russian quarterbacks, you don't always have prolific passing.
01:43There's still three weeks left in the season here for Jaden Daniels to pad a lot of these
01:47numbers.
01:48We know Cam Newton was an NFL MVP, led the Panthers to a 15-1 season, to a Super Bowl.
01:53Robert Griffin III was the one that really popped to me here on this list.
01:56And I know you're a Commanders fan, Matt Stryker.
01:59I know back in the day, you liked your Art Monks and your Gary Clarks and all those fellas.
02:03But when you're looking at the career of Robert Griffin III, it begs to wonder what he would
02:09have done in this version of the NFL just a few years later, where the quarterback is
02:14really protected, the game has changed significantly in terms of the way the game plan and the
02:18Russian quarterbacks and this sort of ability that Robert Griffin had.
02:22I wonder if he would have had a more prolific career had he been drafted, say, in 2021,
02:27as opposed to when he actually did get drafted.
02:29What do you think?
02:31More of a what if than a say, a bust, right, or the Todd Marinovichs of the world.
02:37But it's not this named conversation, but you get what I'm saying.
02:40So I think it's more of a what if kind of thing.
02:43But to this point, the game has completely changed.
02:45And again, to bring it all back to wagering, how we wager on these games has completely
02:50changed.
02:51You know, you and I are from a time as a kid, remember when Rambo Cunningham came on the
02:54scene?
02:55Remember that?
02:56It changed a lot of things.
02:58So we have to change the way we wager based off of the direction of the game, not just
03:03one little, you know, candle, I call it, not just one little point up to the top there,
03:07but trying to find the real way the game is going.
03:09So I would look at, so you have this this dancing, pivot, give me something else, maybe
03:13like a Joe Burrow stat, something to where I know what I'm getting.
03:17And that to me is a very wagerable thing.
03:19So that's a great stat.
03:21But the way I wager on Jaden Daniels, the way I wager on this new type of quarterback,
03:25it's still very tenuous.
03:26And I think a lot of people feel that way.
03:28Yeah, they might.
03:30It's just interesting because, you know, Robert Griffin, you know, body type wise, a lot more
03:33like a Lamar Jackson build.
03:36And Donovan McNabb, some of those other, you know, more mobile quarterbacks, a little bit
03:39bigger, a little thicker guys, you know, withstand a little bit of the abuse they got.
03:43It's just so different now, the protection level of the quarterback, which is good for
03:47the game overall.
03:48But it would have been really good for the game of Robert Griffin, the third also.
