Universiti Malaya (UM) has suspended a lecturer linked to allegations of sending sexually explicit messages.

UM said in a statement on Monday (Dec 23) that the move was made in accordance with the Statutory Bodies (Discipline and Surcharge) Act 2000.

00:08the move was made in line with the Statutory Bodies, Discipline and Surcharge Act 2000.
00:14It also said that the university will continue to ensure a safe and conducive campus environment
00:20by taking strict action against misconduct, regardless of position and status.
00:26On Saturday, Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Dr. Zambri Abdul Qadir
00:31ordered University Malaya to investigate two sexual harassment allegations.
00:36Zambri said the order was also issued so that UM would not take the case lightly
00:42and to ensure that justice was done in the matter.
