00:00The Central Bank of the Philippines has already released the new paper money that is about to be collected.

00:05It is no longer about the heroes, but about the animals and plants that will be found in the Philippines that are about to be destroyed.

00:11Maki Pulido has a report.

00:16Timing, for those who are planning to give out crispy papers, especially just two days before Christmas,

00:22the new money that the Central Bank of the Philippines started to release today.

00:27But if you still want Ninong and Ninang to give a quiz on who is in the money,

00:31don't ask the heroes because they have already left.

00:34Instead, the animals and plants that will be found in the Philippines that are about to be destroyed.

00:40For the historian Professor Ferdinand Llanes,

00:43in a time when our heroes are not known by many,

00:46everything should be done to introduce them.

00:49We can do everything to introduce our people,

00:54our heroes, our ancestors who founded our country.

00:59We should do it.

01:01Instead of our heroes are the Philippine Eagle, Visayan Spotted Deer, Palawan Peacock and Visayan Leopard Cat,

01:08some of the 700 endemic animal species that are in the category of endangered species.

01:14We are highlighting the conservation needs of our threatened species

01:20to direct our attention and help our programs.

01:25Llanes said that there are two sides to the money.

01:27That's why the heroes should not be excluded from the money.

01:30Our current 20-peso bill, on one side, there is Manuel Quezon.

01:37On the other side, you can see the Asian Palm Seedhead.

01:41So why not a compromise, right?

01:45BSP said that the new design raises awareness of endangered animals and plants.
