On August 15 through 18 in 1969, one of the most iconic music festivals was held on a dairy farm in Bethel, New York: Woodstock has become widely regarded as a pivotal moment in popular music history and the counterculture generation of the '60s and '70s. The music festival was billed as three days of peace and music and it attracted more than 400,000 people to the dairy farm in rural New York State.
