00:05a nationwide ground stop for all American Airlines flights this morning due to a technical issue.
00:10The FAA confirmed the ground stop was requested by American Airlines as the airline faced a
00:16vendor technology issue which temporarily halted flights from taking off. In a statement,
00:22American Airlines explained that the issue affected systems needed to release flights
00:26but reassured passengers that the problem has now been resolved.
00:30Flights have resumed and they apologize for any inconvenience. As of 8 a.m. Eastern, the ground
00:35stop was lifted and flights are once again departing just in time for the busy holiday rush.
