00:00First of all, we've seen a decrease in clashes between Kurds and Turkish-backed militants.
00:06Do you think this could continue?
00:09This depends on the status internally. Right now, the Kurds are trying to determine the
00:16best options they have forward. There's a major change. There's a whole new authority
00:22in charge inside Syria. This authority has been empowered by Turkey, the main rival for
00:29the Kurds. There seems to be a strong international support for this takeover inside Damascus,
00:38and therefore the Kurds now have to weigh their options going forward. They're trying
00:46to negotiate with the new authority in Damascus about options for the future. They're trying
00:52to have some sort of a self-rule in the Kurdish areas. There doesn't seem to be that much
01:00progress on that side. However, there is strong Turkish pressure to disarm the Kurdish groups,
01:07while we still don't have the final say from the U.S. side, because we're anticipating
01:13a change of power.
