00:43great coach while we're talking about those but the Knicks obviously a
00:46contender in the Eastern Conference and a team showing its depth yet again we're
00:51always talking about Jalen Brunson Carl Anthony Towns it was Mikhail Bridges who
00:56had 41 points on a incredibly efficient 17 of 25 yesterday just had to withstand
01:03Wemby on the other side who in his Christmas debut went for 40 plus and
01:07almost 20 rebounds yeah well the story in this game I mean is San Antonio
01:14really came out and smacked the Knicks early in this game here and it was all
01:19about of course Wembyama there who was everything to the San Antonio Spurs I
01:26mean 42 points 16 to 31 I've got a big problem with a 7 foot 2 dude taking 16
01:33shots from 3 and he made 6 of those so but he did have 18 rebounds 4 assists
01:394 blocks 1 steal played 40 minutes and the reason this game was on at noon
01:43quite honestly is because it was 6 o'clock in Paris you think that had
01:47anything to do with it uh and he delivered we're gonna be seeing
01:51Wembyama for years to come but the reality is he doesn't have the
01:56supporting cast that oh I don't know let's say a Jalen Brunson has who wasn't
02:00great in this game but what the Knicks did do is what championship and
02:05experience teams do is that when they needed and they were terrible from 3 13
02:11to 39 from outside but Mikhail Bridges Josh Hart OG an anomaly down the stretch
02:18they all hit huge threes when they needed it and then of course they led
02:23on the boards they led in steals when they needed to make a play they did it
02:28they got it done that's the mark of a pretty darn good experience and and
02:33playoff team that's what the Knicks are but the Spurs played good enough to win
02:37a game on the road in a tough environment but they got to have more
02:42than just web I am and unfortunately right now that's all they have you know
02:48Joe this is five straight wins for the Knicks they have won eight of ten sit
02:52two games behind the Celtics for the second seed in the Eastern Conference
02:56six games out behind Cleveland for the top overall spot long long season
03:01obviously is a long way to go there 30 games into an 80-plus game season but
03:05Carl Anthony Towns who you know solid yesterday even though he came below its
03:10season averages he has been on a tear he's averaging 25 points and 14 rebounds
03:15overall for the year I think you know as many people as there were excited about
03:21that trade involving he and Julius Randall Dante DiVincenzo in the off
03:25season I think Towns is fit in with this offense fit in under Tibbs fit in with
03:31Brunson fit in with the Knicks and their culture a lot better than then people
03:36even necessarily anticipated things are going really really well things are
03:42going great and you know listen to your point he's fit in well and the Knicks you
03:48know everyone felt that they might have been one player away well they had to go
03:53on a 23 to 9 run yesterday in order to come back and win that game against San
03:57Antonio and you know who was not on the floor because he had five fouls and
04:01didn't have any part in that run Carl Anthony Towns so as good as he has been
04:06the Knicks you mentioned it McHale Bridges Carl Anthony Towns has been
04:12great one of the best scorers in the NBA so far this year I mean he's really
04:16changed the dynamic of this Knicks team but as the Knicks showed all right we
04:22don't have Carl Anthony Towns tonight you know what McHale Bridges sets up or
04:25Jalen Brunson steps up or Hart or I don't know we have seen these guys
04:29rotate that's the mark of a great team and that's what the Knicks are right now
04:35they are feeling it even when their best player and I can make the argument that
04:39so far this year Carl Anthony Towns has been their best player but you know what
04:44everybody else stepped up when he wasn't available and that's what when
04:48championships Carl Anthony Towns could have been that missing piece the Knicks
04:53have been looking for this year hasn't worked all that well for Minnesota but
04:58certainly it looks like it's working very well for the New York Knicks
