00:00Welcome to MEDIEN, the newspaper of economic news.
00:13We start in Morocco, where tourist revenues have reached 96.9 billion dirhams during the first 10 months of 2024,

00:34At the end of the first 11 months of 2024, the tourism sector reached a new record of 15.9 million arrivals,
00:43an increase of 19.8% in annual flows.
00:47This performance is due to the increase in arrivals of foreign tourists between the end of November 2023 and 2024 of 23%,
00:55compared to that of Moroccans living abroad of 16.7%.
00:59This dynamic concerned the main emitter markets,

01:09Spain with 15%
01:11Italy with 34%

01:17Holland with 26%
01:20and Belgium with 20%
01:22while the number of tourists from China almost doubled at the end of November 2024 with 98%.
01:30As for the nights made in the hostels classified,
01:34their volume has consolidated 10.3% at the end of October 2024,
01:39exceeding 24.1 million nights.
01:43This progression is drawn by the strengthening of the nights of non-residents of 16%.
01:48The nights of residents, on the other hand, decreased by 1%.
01:51The city of Marrakech, the first tourist hub in Morocco,
01:54recorded more than 8.4 million nights at the end of last October,
01:59with an increase of 11%, followed by Agadir,
02:02with nearly 5.5 million nights,

02:08Staying in Morocco, where the Telefonie Park has progressed from 5.2%
02:14to nearly 60.3 million subscribers at the end of the first nine months of 2024,
02:20according to the Direction des Etudes et des Prévisions Financières.
02:23The penetration rate of this segment has, in this context, reached a record level of 161.3%,
02:31instead of 154.8% at the end of September 2023 and 133.5% at the end of September 2019,
02:39according to the DEPF in its December 2024 summary note.
02:44As for the Telefonie Park, it increased by 6.4% at the end of last September,
02:51after an improvement of 7.8% in 2023, to about 3 million subscribers.
02:57For its part, the Internet Park exceeded 42.1 million subscribers at the end of September 2024,
03:04recording a record penetration rate of 112.7%.
03:09This evolution is due to the reinforcement of this park by 6.5% at the end of September 2024,
03:16after a consolidation of 8.1% a year earlier.
03:20And now to France, where the number of job seekers enrolled in France is working in category A,
03:27that is to say, without activity, to progress from 1.43% in November compared to the previous month,

03:55almost stable, at 0.2% in the third quarter in France, out of Mayotte,
04:01i.e. 5,200 enrolled in addition to 3.021 million.
04:06Economists expect an increase in unemployment in France.
04:10In his last note of conjunction in mid-December,
04:13the INSE estimated that the unemployment rate should go from 7.4% currently to 7.6% of the active population
04:22by mid-2025.
04:25And now to China, where the World Bank has revised its growth forecast for the Chinese economy in 2024,
04:34now targeting a 4.9% progression against 4.8% according to its June projections.
04:42This revision takes into account recent measures to soften economic policy and the vigor of China's short-term exports.
04:50The country, which aims for a growth rate of about 5% by 2024,
04:54has doubled efforts in recent months to support consumption
04:58and to curb a persistent crisis in the real estate sector,
05:02the long-term driving force of economic growth.
05:05In September, the Central Bank introduced measures including the reduction of mortgage rates
05:11for the purchase of primary and secondary housing.
05:14In October, the Chinese authorities announced the expansion of the project credit scale
05:19on the white list to 4 billion yen, or some 562 billion US dollars.
05:29And that's the end of this economic newspaper.
