00:00Okay, we are back once again at Mesa Country Club getting a lot of love lately as it deserves.
00:04Little sloppy there 13 through 15. We're going to finish out 16, 17 and 18 brought to you by
00:10our great friends at Peter Millar and the Holdred sweater family. 16th hole is maybe the signature
00:15hole on the golf course. It's a short downhill par three right next to the clubhouse. Beautiful
00:21view of the trees. It looks kind of like you're in California even though you're in Mesa, Arizona.
00:25From the blue tees it's 152 yards to this slightly back left pin but significantly downhill and the
00:31greens are kind of firm. So I've got on this beautiful sweater and I've got my hands a
00:34nine iron trying to hit it at the right side of the green right center with a little bit of a
00:38draw. Pretty smooth swing here actually from the young man starting just at the right of the green
00:43catches kind of the front right and then takes the hill, takes the slope, takes the bounce and gets
00:48all the way back to about pin high maybe 20 feet away. Again look at the bunkering, look at the
00:53lights, look at the shadows, look at the different colors of the trees. This is an awesome golf hole.
00:57I like to play it well. So here we are. We got ourselves a pretty good look for birdie. It kind
01:01of goes up over a slope and then back down the other side of that little hump and we're going
01:06to give this a good effort. We're going to try to make a birdie and we gave it way too much of
01:11an effort. Rolls way by. Not very happy with myself. Luckily, luckily got to see that bad
01:15boy roll by the hole. I thought with the view I'd like to set you guys up. You know usually you get
01:20to view the putt from directly behind. It's a little bit more of an understanding of if it's
01:23going to go in or not but lighting, artistic, cinematography, I thought this might be the best
01:28angle. So here we go. We got about 10 feet left to clean this par up after a GIR. Hoping we make this
01:34one and we do. Walked it in a little bit and look at that sweater. This is the full zip from the
01:40Holdridge sweater family. This thing is fantastic. It is a blend of ultra soft merino wool and a luxury
01:46performance material. It's not going to slow you down out there with bulkiness. It's stretchy. It's
01:51comfortable. It's warm when you need it to be warm. It provides water resistance, wind resistance.
01:56They've got three different models of vests. This full zip sweater and a full zip hoodie. You can
02:01check it out at PeterMillar.com slash foreplay and you can check out the rest of Peter Millar's
02:06sweater lineup which is the best in the business. We're going to the difficult 17 pole. This is the
02:10number two handicap on the golf course. A little bit of a dog leg right but overall pretty straight
02:16off the tee. I'm trying to just hit one up off that right bunker. A little draw and I hooked one a
02:21little bit. Got a terrible bounce. Hit a tree. Kicked way back and left. It wasn't a great shot but if it
02:27gets past that tree it kind of ends up up there near those fairway bunkers in the left rough and
02:31I could probably come up with something but kicked way back and left. So I got a million yards out and
02:35I gotta hook this thing like you wouldn't believe. The pin is as I set up with this three iron here.
02:41The pin is sort of where my spine angle is. Way left and I got to keep it low. Hook the hell out
02:46of those. We're going to catch bunker and trees over on the right and you can see that shot shape
02:50actually did it extremely well. Came out low and tumbling. Advanced it all the way up there to a
02:54relatively decent spot considering how poor of a result that was off the tee. This holdridge sweater
02:59thing is awesome. PeterMillar.com slash foreplay and give a nice little look at the old chicken
03:04wing that Rigs Barstool likes to deliver here. Actually hit a great shot. Great strike. Just hit
03:08it maybe a fraction too far. So we get up there and we are about 15 feet behind the pin. As you
03:13can see a lot of people getting a lot of trouble here. So a little bit of bunker splash residue on
03:17the green but cleared that out as nicely as we could. We got ourselves a decent look for par
03:21after that terrible result off the tee. Thought this thing was going to kind of snap left at the
03:25end and it didn't. Didn't really hit it with any conviction. Didn't really hit it with anything
03:29that's worth writing home about. So we got to clean this one up for bogey and we do. Again
03:32that's the number two handicap hole in the course. A 420 or so yard par four. A little tricky off the
03:37tee. So bogey's a bogey and is what it is. Let's come to the par 5 18th. This is a pretty goodable
03:42hole. It's only 505 yards or so from the blue tees. Trying to hit a little draw up there. That left
03:47bunker comes into play. That right bunker's come into play. So trying to shape one up through there.
03:50This is actually an excellent swing from yours truly. Started right with a little bit of a draw.
03:55It was going to be close. Going to be close if it caught that bunker or not. It did but that bunker
03:59is not terrible. As you can see it's pretty flat. There's not a high lip or anything and I'm only
04:03230 yards or so from the hole. So I've got a four iron here. Trying to just advance it up there just
04:08short of that little cross bunker and have just a pitch up the hill. Hooked it a little. As you can
04:13see I tried to save it by kind of holding it off but got up there. It hit the road. There's a road
04:18that crosses this fairway. So it hit the road. Skipped up there a ways. All right that's up there.
04:23That's good. So we've got ourselves a little wedge in here. Trying to pitch one. Trying to just barely
04:27land one on the green there and just hit it decently but hit it probably three feet too short.
04:32So it hit the fringe. Grabbed. Didn't skip very well and we have about 25 feet for a birdie. This
04:38would get us back to even on this three hole little video. It would keep us at just two over
04:43through the final six holes that we filmed here at Mesa. Great vest. By the way I threw the vest
04:47on at this point. Took off the old full zip. Tossed the vest on. Had to show off a little bit. Blue.
04:53Got blue eyes. It's a nice look Navy. Speaking of nice looks this was not one. This was a poor effort.
04:57Left it a good five feet short. As you can see pretty fed up with myself at this part of the
05:01round. Really just kind of a disappointing effort in a lot of different respects. So
05:05run up there to clean it up. Got through the last three at just one over. Got through the last six
05:09at three over. Mesa's looking awesome. The Holdridge family line. PeterMillar.com
05:13slash foreplay. Awesome. Great for this time of year. Big shout out once again to Mesa.
05:18Fantastic work out there and we finished with a couple decent holes. So that was fun.
