00:25Yesterday, the Filipino surrogate mothers arrived at Ninoy Aquino International Airport from Cambodia
00:31after receiving Royal Pardon.
00:33According to the Department of Foreign Affairs,
00:35the Philippine government is grateful to the Royal Government of Cambodia
00:39for the humanitarian treatment provided to the Filipino mothers.
00:42According to the DFA, their safety in returning to the country
00:45is proven by a long friendship between the Philippines and Cambodia.
00:49The two governments also agreed to fight human trafficking and other transnational crimes.
00:57At the same time, the DFA reminded the Filipinos that surrogacy is banned in Cambodia.
01:04Meanwhile, the Department of Social Welfare and Development
01:09will provide temporary housing to the so-called surrogate mothers.
01:12GSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian ordered their field office
01:17to provide the necessary assistance to these mothers and their children
01:21under their Recovery and Reintegration Program for Trafficked Persons.
01:26While the Filipino mothers are in temporary shelters,
01:29the DSWD will also help them to talk to their families and also help them.
01:34These so-called Filipino surrogate mothers are among the more than 20 foreign women
