It’s been reported that 1 in 40 pubs across the country are failing food hygiene ratings, after the UK’s filthiest pubs have been revealed. It was found that some venues were even found to have rotting food and rodent droppings.

00:19which serve food are rated from 0 to 5. Any establishment which scores below 2 fails to
00:25meet the minimum standards. It was found that Birmingham topped the list of areas with failing
00:30venues with 26 bars and restaurants which fell below the required food safety standards.
00:36Cornwall, Powys and Wiltshire then followed as regions with the next highest numbers of
00:42substandard establishments. The Food Standards Agency has emphasised that these ratings represent
00:48a snapshot of hygiene standards.
