00:00Good morning. Happy 29th of December. 29th? Why 29th? Well, 49 years ago today I

00:13stopped and I was having such fun but then I realized I was in big, big trouble

00:23because I couldn't remember anything and I was driving a car drunk out of my

00:29skull. Then on that fatal day I realized I needed help. So I got it. I phoned up a

00:38group of people like me, alcoholic, and that was it. It's over. Anyway, I've had more fun

00:49these 49 years than ever. If you do have a problem, having fun is wonderful, having a

00:55drink is fine, but if you are having a problem with the booze, there is help.

01:02It's not a terrible deal. It's a condition if you're allergic to alcohol.

01:08Get some help. There's plenty of help around. One thing I didn't realize that I

01:15was not unique. There are thousands of people around me. Anyway, I got sober and

01:21sounds a dull word, but I've had a wonderful life. They still employ me. They

01:27still give me jobs. I'm gonna be 87 in two days time. So I'm celebrating my long

01:33life. Unexpectedly long life. So if you have a problem, you know where to go.

01:40Phone any intergroup, 12-step program, whatever you can do because it is a

01:49killer. With that, Happy New Year!
