00:00A multi-agency search is in its fifth day looking for lost Bushwalker Melbourne University
00:07student Hardy Nazari.
00:09The 23-year-old was last seen on the Hannells Spur Trail as he broke away from his group
00:14of friends he was camping with in the Kosciuszko National Park to take photos.
00:20Mr Nazari was last seen at 2.30 last Thursday with police being called later that evening
00:26after he did not return from his walk.
00:29Mr Nazari is known as quite a good bushwalker and an experienced one but Hannells Spur Trail
00:36has quite dense bushland as Inspector Gillian Gibson mentioned earlier today.
00:42It's part of the most rugged terrain in New South Wales.
00:46It's very steep, it's very vegetated and it's quite remote so we've set up increased communications
00:52to increase our capability there.
00:55The heat is also an issue but can I just say that the volunteers and the staff which
01:01have attended have been amazing and the way in which they just put themselves out there
01:06every day trying to find Hardy is so amazing.
01:11Police are appealing that if volunteers would like to go and help with the search for Mr
01:15Nazari to please contact the command centre first and not to go out on their own due to
01:20the density of the bushland.
01:22Police are also appealing that if anyone was in the Kosciuszko National Park along
01:26the Hannells Spur Trail on Thursday afternoon and may have seen anything or been in the
01:32area that could provide assistance to please call Crimestoppers.
