In South Australia hundreds of thousands gathered at party precincts packed into pubs. and met in backyards across the state to see off 2024 and welcome the New Year with a bang. Police say despite 72 arrests they were happy with people's behaviour.

00:55but three high range drink drivers were caught in the early hours of the morning.
