If you grew up eating at McDonald's but didn't want a soda or weren't allowed to have one, there was always Hi-C Orange Lavaburst. The orange drink was a huge fan favorite, so people were devastated to learn that it is gradually disappearing. A leaked memo said that the drink would be replaced with Sprite TropicBerry, although no McDonald's has begun selling it yet. It looks like the new replacement for Orange Hi-C is Orange Fanta, which some think was chosen as a compromise. Still, people miss their Hi-C. Let's take a look at the details of the fan favorite drink that McDonald's will no longer serve

00:00If you grew up loving Happy Meals, you know there are few tastes more nostalgia-inducing
00:05than the orange drink from McDonald's, otherwise known as High Sea Orange Lava Burst.
00:10Unfortunately, that drink's run-as-your-go-to beverage order at McDonald's came to an end
00:14over the summer of 2017, when it was quietly phased out across the chain.
00:19The announcement came in April 2017 through an alleged company memo leaked on Reddit,
00:23which said the drink was being axed to make way for a new Coke beverage exclusive to McDonald's,
00:29According to the memo, High Sea would be discontinued May 1st and replaced with the new flavored
00:35Sprite over the summer of 2017, once each restaurant's High Sea supply was depleted.
00:40Cries of despair and outrage could be heard across the internet as fans discovered the
00:44drink's demise, and those cries were particularly loud on Twitter.
00:47The Facebook page McDonald's Worker Memes even changed their cover photo to an image
00:51of High Sea Orange Lava Burst in memory of the drink, with some workers sharing their
00:55stories of unhappy customers, and others bragging about still carrying the elusive
01:00beverage.
01:01However, 2017 is coming to a close, and Sprite Tropic Berry has yet to be revealed to McDonald's
01:06customers.
01:07Instead, most McDonald's are serving Orange Fanta, most likely in an effort to appease
01:11those customers craving something orange to wash down their Big Macs.
01:15Unfortunately for the Golden Arches, it's not going over well on social media.
01:19For now, however, fans of High Sea Orange Lava Burst do have other options.
01:24Twitter users claim to have found the drink at select Wendy's restaurants, and you can
01:27also buy it on Amazon and at many grocery stores.
01:30But you'll probably want to enjoy that in the privacy of your own home, unless you don't
01:34mind sipping on a juice box in public.
01:36"...High Sea, High Sea, it tastes so wonderfully, wonderfully."
01:44Perhaps the best option for Lava Burst lovers, though, is Jack in the Box, who wasn't afraid
01:48to take advantage of McDonald's poor choices, tweeting,
01:51High five!
01:52We still serve High Sea!
01:53Hashtag HighSeaOrange, hashtag you're welcome.
01:56At least there's one fast food chain that still cares about your childhood dreams.
