00:00The government of Mexico reiterates that it will not accept foreign interference in the
00:04fight against drug trafficking and the production of fentanyl in the country.
00:09Mexican president Claudia Sheinbaum assured that her government
00:13is acting against the production of fentanyl and is also defending the right to information.
00:18The president's statement comes after an article in the New York Times
00:22said that fentanyl was being produced in a laboratory located in the Mexican state of Sinaloa.
00:30We are going to collaborate with the United States as we are collaborating now for
00:40humanitarian reasons. There are more than 100,000 or close to 100,000 young people or
00:46people dying from fentanyl overdose in the United States, something that doesn't happen in Mexico.
00:51So we are going to collaborate to help as much as we can in this health crisis
01:03they are having in the United States. And our vision is that it is not only the
01:07arrest of those who dedicate themselves to this,
01:10but we have to take it also as a public health issue. But, in Mexico, we don't accept interference,
01:25we collaborate but we don't subordinate ourselves, and that is how it is going to be.
