Meta's push to integrate AI-generated characters into Instagram and Facebook marks a significant step in its strategy to attract and retain younger audiences.

Starting in 2025, Meta plans to launch a suite of tools that allow users to create personalized, AI-generated avatars, which will have their own profiles, bios, and the ability to post and share content.

Connor Hayes, Vice President of Product for Generative AI at Meta, emphasized that these AI characters would not just be passive representations of users but active, engaging entities within the app.

The aim is to infuse entertainment and creativity into users' feeds, allowing them to interact with these characters in a way that enhances the overall user experience.
