Constipation occurs when stool moves too slowly through the large intestine, causing it to become hard and dry. This can lead to infrequent or uncomfortable bowel movements, usually fewer than three times a week.
Stools that are hard, dry, and difficult to pass are types 1 and 2 on the Bristol Stool scale. They may also be darker in color.

Fluids: Not drinking enough water or other fluids
