00:00Yeah Cameron Schultz, local Colcann Farmer. We bought her on this Walla Walla Solar Farm, which you can see in the video.
00:09This is not a good thing. It was said to us that the grass was going to be maintained, it was going to be kept down.
00:18Here we are now reaching our peak fire danger period and we've got grass in there like that,
00:25in a high risk fire environment with electricity and aluminium and reflective things that start fires.
00:35Well on Friday we had a fire within the solar farm here, which none of the RFS could access because it's got a 6 foot fence around it.
00:45They had to backtrack all the way to the main gate to get into.
00:50Had Friday been a bad day, this fire really could have got out of hand and really impacted on local farmers and people around its livelihoods, their houses, lives.
01:01People really are not trained to go within their perimeter of these boundaries.
01:08I've done a fair bit of RFS training and there's nothing in there about going into a solar farm and fighting a fire.
01:15I really do fear for people's lives. The toxins that may come out of these panels in here as a person, as a firefighter.
01:24Real firefighters don't have B8. What happens if you're in there and breathing in them fumes?
01:30I reckon they're really putting people at risk. It's terrible.
