00:00Activities in Quirino Grandstand have already started
00:04in celebration of the year of the translation.
00:07The details in the national news of Rod Laguzad of PTV Manila.
00:11Live, Rod.
00:14Joshua, activities have already started here in Quirino Grandstand.
00:18From the mass for the volunteers, this will follow the traditional ritual
00:23in celebration of the year of the translation.
00:28A few days before the feast of Jesus Nazareno,
00:31activities have already started this Monday in Quirino Grandstand.
00:35Tonight, a mass will be held for the volunteers for the translation this year.
00:40According to Rev. Fr. Robert Arellano, speaker for Nazareno 2025,
00:45this will give importance to the members of the Church.
00:48This is important because the Church cannot do this alone,
00:53nor can the government.
00:55The lay people, the government, and the Church need to help each other.
01:00And we are giving this because they have a great duty and responsibility
01:06to ensure that all our activities are holy, safe, and proper.
01:14The leader of the Church said that it depends on the situation
01:17if the mass will start after the mass.
01:20Because on the night of January 7, this is the first schedule for this.
01:23But it depends on the number of people who will go there.
01:26If we know that their line will be crowded,
01:29we will definitely start our traditional mass.
01:33So, what we are saying that it might start earlier depends on the number of people
01:39because we cannot control how many people will really go there.
01:44But how did the mass start?
01:47According to Fr. Arellano, the mass is one of the ways of faith.
01:51Biblically speaking, there are many encounters with our beloved Jesus Nazareno.
01:57He held his feet, he wore his clothes.
02:00Those who are sick are really healed.
02:03And this is our refreshment and remembrance.
02:06That is why this is done as a way of expressing our faith.
02:12Because we have restrictions now, others still need to be careful.
02:18That is why our recommendation, if possible, is to just hold on to it.
02:23Meanwhile, the Philippine National Police will deploy
02:26the civilian police in the upcoming translation of Jesus Nazareno.
02:29According to the PNP, the civilian police will involve the devotees who will attend the translation.
02:34This is part of the comprehensive security plan of the PNP
02:37to ensure that there will be no bad intentions, even if there is no serious threat to the security of the activity.
02:42More than 12,000 policemen will be deployed for the translation,
02:46including more than 2,000 from the AFP, PCG, BAP, and other authorized agencies of the government.
02:52Our intelligence operatives are civilians and will be involved with the participants of the translation.
03:01They will sit there so that if there are people monitoring them,
03:04they will be able to report to the police who are deployed.
03:10Even if this is a religious activity, there will be people involved, such as Salisi, Mandurukot, and Snatcher.
03:18According to this code 9, a sign of ceremony was held earlier for the security and safety personnel
03:23who were involved in the activity here at the Quirino Grandstand.
03:26Next, Father Rufino Sescon Jr. conducted an inspection for the security and safety personnel involved in monitoring the translation.
03:38On the part of Mayor Hanny Lacuna, he said that everything is set for the translation,
03:44just like all the roads that are included in the route of the translation are in order.
03:50On the part of PNP Chief Marville, he reminded the public and devotees that they are not allowed to wear hats and hoodies
03:58because the faces of the participants of the activity should be visible.
04:02It is also prohibited to bring a bladed weapon.
04:05He also reminded that they should ensure that the devotees should be able to see
04:11where the ambulances and comfort rooms are located in case they need them.
04:17At this time, the mass is still going on for the volunteers.
04:21If you can see behind me, there are early birds lining up to be kissed.
04:27This is after they know that they can start kissing earlier after the current mass for the volunteers.
04:35And that is the latest from the Quirino Grandstand.
04:38Back to you, Joshua.
04:40Thank you very much, Rod Lagusan.
