00:00And let's take a look at the prices this morning in Kadiwa stores that are still offering cheap rice.

00:14Now, the government is still working hard to lower the price of rice.

00:19Just like here in the public market or in Kamunding Public Market

00:22where you can buy 40 pesos per kilo of rice for all by Kadiwa of Pangulo.

00:27But aside from that, new varieties of rice that are cheaper are also on the market.

00:37The Department of Agriculture is targeting to roll out a cheaper variety of rice for all this January.

00:43This is the Solid Rice with 100% broken white rice and Nutri Rice between well-milled and brown rice.

00:50According to the DA, Nutri Rice has a lot of vitamins such as fiber and minerals that can be bought at a cheap price.

00:57Solid Rice can be bought for P35 to P36 per kilo while Nutri Rice is P37 to P38 per kilo.

01:06The DA is targeting to roll it out to 24 Kadiwa of Pangulo Sides and MRT and LRT.

01:13The DA's next target is to reach the programs in the provinces

01:17such as Bulacan, Rizal, Pampanga, Cavite and Laguna in February or March.

01:23There are also agencies that can add Kadiwa kiosks to the primary public market nationwide.

01:28For now, the kiosks are available here in Kamunding Public Market, Malabon Central Market,

01:34Nula Spina City Public Market, Pasay City Public Market, Guadalupe Market,

01:39MRT North Avenue Station and LRT Monumento Station.

01:43Aside from this, the agency is also targeting to lower the price of rice for all from P38 to P39

01:49that can currently be bought for P40 per kilo of well-milled rice.

01:57Currently, in my tour of Kamunding Public Market,

02:01the price of local well-milled rice is between P40 to P48

02:05while the price of other types of rice can reach P58.

02:10That's why it's a big savings if Nutri and Solid Rice can be rolled out.
