00:09The stolen data include military documents with some related to the South China Sea territorial
00:14dispute.
00:15A Bloomberg News report citing three sources says cybersecurity experts detected the breach
00:19in 2023 and again in August 2024, with the president's office seeking details from the
00:24experts in May 2024.
00:27Two of the sources say the attackers used tactics linked to a group named APT41.
00:32Advanced Persistent Threat Groups, or APTs, is a term used to describe state-sponsored
00:37hacking groups.
00:38Under-Secretary for Cybersecurity Jeffrey E. Andee of the Department of Information
00:42and Communications Technology, or DICT, says there is no current information that has been
00:47compromised.
00:48Thee says, quote, "...we are able to detect them early on, and when we do so, we are able
00:53to secure the database."
00:55Meantime, China denies any involvement, saying it is opposed to hacking.
